Rigo better not duck Loma. Rigo complains that all of the other champions are terrified and running from him (true), so he needs to fight Loma.

I want to see this fight take place more than anyone. I'm a fan of both fighters. But, I have to keep it real. Lomo knows he's the bigger, stronger man. There's no way Rigo should win that fight. So it's real easy for Lomo to call out Rigo. Still, Rigo needs that fight and he should make that fight happen ASAP.

I'll be shocked if this fight ever happens.

When is Loma going to fight Walters? He said he doesn't want to fight Walters because he lost his title yet he's going after a man a division below him? Also, interesting stats in boxrec.

    Walters 5'7", 73"
    Lomachenko 5'6", 65"
    Rigondeaux 5'4", 68"

Walters and Loma are closer in size (height AND weight) but Loma has some t-rex arms

Why is he calling out the smaller man?

I was under the impression that Lomachenko wanted to unify and become a true champion in his own division, particularly given the logic used to justify his disinterest in Walters. How exactly would a win over Rigondeaux contribute to this task? Just wondering.

And why would you assume that's his only goal? Did they say we're going to EXCLUSIVELY fight for titles at 126 (silly assumption mind you)? Maybe beside the title they don't think much of Walters? Maybe Rigondeaux is the far more accomplished fighter and brings more to the table? Ever thought about that?

Not really, I was just applying his logic. I've said something similar though: it makes more sense for Ward to fight Kovalev than Golovkin, and I believe that given Ward's size advantage and style, Golovkin would be relatively easier than Kovalev (although neither are guaranteed wins). For the record, I don't want Ward and Golovkin to fight until both are at a comfortable weight. There's no ducking between Golovkin, Ward, and Kovalev.

Their situations are slightly different also, Loma and Walters are in the same weight class.

True, but he's closer to Loma than Rigo is. Did Walters say he was moving up?

Okay then why the utter refusal to even countenance a compromise on the weight when it was Lomachenko's camp itself that initiated talk of this fight with a guy from a lower division?

I was under the same impression he was, nothing silly about it. They said they don't want Walters because he doesn't have a title. What does that imply?

Well, that's another issue altogether. But let's be clear that Rigondeaux is a superior opponent to Walters.

If you want to bash Lomachenko for his unwillingness to compromise on the weight issues, I've no problem with that.

That implies they're not interested in Walters if he doesn't bring a title to the table.
