I've looked at them, I posted the list of them remember!

You think boxing is some noble quest? It's a business and at times a dirty business and, like all business it's ruled by MONEY£$£$£.
Every manager is trying to sidestep the most dangerous opponents ,to dodge bullets if you like. His priority is to get the maximum moolah for the least risk . The commodity he is selling is his fighter and every time his fighter gets beat, his market value goes down.

    Graziano didn't fight:
    Burley
    Chase
    Lytell
    Wade

All ranked in his era ,why do you think that was?
    C'mon Suze don't be so naïve.:hey

How many of these great African American fighters such as Coco Kid, Kid Tunero, Holman Williams, Charley Burley etc, did Ray Robinson take on ? Robinson were he of mind could of given
some of those guys a money shot...Why don't you put an asterisk on Robinson too ? Why only eviscerate a Tony Zale who served 4 years of his prime in the Navy, and after being discharged had a helluva lot more obligation to take care of his family than he had to ameliorate your sick diatribe against him
SEVENTY FIVE years later....S, you can't truly answer my post
with any honesty or fair mindedness... I despise hypocrisy
and bias works both ways...Let it be...

Robinson took on great black fighters, a prime kid Gavilán. Also good fighters like Tommy bell California Jackie Wilson Aaron Wade. Robinson at 147 fought the best available

Name me one prime great black fighter who zale took on?

Zale was lucky to even become champion, he would have never beaten Charley burley Eddie booker Archie Moore or ezzard Charles.

Robinson openly admitted to not wanting any part of Burley so I guess I can put that in the same league as Dempsey Wills acording to ur criteria.
Why didnt Marciano fight Valdez? Regardless of his loss to Moore he still at some point could have fought him. Oh wait he preferred old black men and benefited getting a long count against a LTHW in Moore.

Zale is overrated. Hopkins, Hagler, and Golovkin smoke him. Some of the other guys too.

This is the bottom line difference, and the reason why Zale's failure to fight these guys is so relevant to the question being discussed in this thread: It's far from clear that he would have beaten several of them.

Now while ur busy worshipping ur Marciano posters my 50 yr old ass is gonna get 3 rounds of sparring in 3 rounds on heavy bag and hit a back workout after working 11 hrs today. I have a life and I don't worship other men.
My heroes r the people who defend our country. Not some clumsey fighter.

Burt- Don't get me wrong. While Tony Zale shouldn't have been compelled to defend his world middleweight title in a bout with any fighter from the famed Murderers' Row because of gate attraction considerations, that doesn't mean he should have been permitted to avoid the likes of Jake LaMotta and Sugar Ray Robinson, both of whom were fine gate attractions in their own right although not on the same level as Rocky Graziano in that category. But both both LaMotta and Robinson faced far better competition than Graziano did while compiling fine records. While avoiding the likes of LaMotta and Robinson, Zale faced far less worthy fighters such as Graziano and Marcel Cerdan in four consecutive world middleweight title bouts.

I would allow Zale to fight Graziano in a title bout one time with the winner of the bout being compelled to have a title bout with LaMotta or Robinson. Zale or Graziano would have made plenty of money fighting LaMotta or Robinson in a title bout.

Yes moore was a bitter loser. watch the fight. WATCH. You see any long count?

Robinson ducked burley but he didn't draw the color line. He took on kid Gavilán, zale flat out drew the color line.

I have been on record saying I would have liked to have seen Marciano fight Valdes instead of ****ell. I would not classify it as a duck. Valdes went 0-2 in title eliminators losing to Moore and baker

Harry Wills was the number one contender 5 years longer than Valdes was and he went 3-0 in title eliminators compared to Valdes going 0-2

"Marciano only fought old black men"

Why couldn't Valdes beat that old black man in 2 attempts
