Lewis had been pro for just as many years as Tyson had when Mcall sparked him. Yep that same Mcall who lost to Buster Douglas many years prior.

Wladmir Klitscko had been pro for the same number of years as Tyson and was the same age when Purrity stopped him.

And Purrity also had 12 losses to his name at the time.

    Tyson doesn't need any breaks.

Holyfield has stated in numerous documentaries, he had to beat Tyson because him and Tyson were two of the best and Tyson was the man to beat.

Lewis said he didn't want to retire until he beat Tyson to cement his legacy.

Vitali Klitscko, after the Chisora fight, said to Haye, 'Haye, if you really want this belt, which has been held by great fighters such as Ali, Lewis and Tyson, then come and get it'.

When people call you out, that's because your the man to beat. Who did Larry Holmes come out of retirement for? Who was Foreman calling out?

Tyson. Because he was the man to beat.

Tyson would KTFO of Frazier within 3 rounds, maybe in the first. Too much speed and power for Frazier's leaky defense.

Allow me to change the direction of this discussion.. I haven't been here 60 days yet.. So I can't start a thread.. But if you are interested.. go back and watch the Douglas who knocked the living **** out of the baddest man on the planet on that night..

I know this is about Frazier vs Tyson and who would win.. And, I'll give my opinion on that by the end of this.. But let's take a moment to talk about Buster Douglas.. The Buster Douglas who fought Iron Mike, never fought again.. or before.. Meaning, Buster was an enigma. I don't think the man really liked to fight..He hated training, and quit when he was out of gas. He has been known to stop fighting in a fight he was easily winning.. He had all the tools.. just no heart.

But if you look at the Buster who knocked out Tyson, you see a completely different fighter for that one fight. Buster hit his peak right there.. Watch that fight.. Absolutely no fear.. against Mike Tyson, the most feared fighter in the world.

On that night, Douglas was in great mental form and in rare top condition .. He was all in for this one.. He knew before the fight if he got in top shape he could beat Tyson.. which he profoundly did in the most shocking and overwhelming way.. a blowout!!! He had everything in that fight.. Heart, determination, skill, and a burning ass kicking desire and will to win.. Even got off the floor from a Tyson uppercut that knocked him clear to the other side of the ring.. You see him pound the floor with disgust and resolve to get back up. And he got back up,finishing the round by making Tyson's head look like speed bag. Something the old Douglas wouldn't do. That Douglas would have stayed on the canvass to be counted out, like he did against Holyfield, a much lighter puncher.

The new Buster of the Tyson fight was a different animal, no fear, a grit your teeth, I'm going to do this attitude.. He exposed Tyson as a bully, who would fold if you just fought him back.. and show no fear..

Oh, I forgot, this was about Tyson vs Frazier.. who would win..? Easy, Frazier would, by late round knockout...Frazier wouldn't be shaking in his shoes either, he would've stood up to Tyson too. And we all know he could go 15 none stop...

Now back to Douglas.. The Douglas that beat Tyson, never entered the ring again.. Holyfield fought a totally different Douglas.. the old one who would quit.. look for a way out.. out of shape.. Just wanted his check and go home.. He wasn't the same fighter anymore and never would be again. Being great in one momentous fight hardly qualifies Douglas to be spoken in the same breathe as the great ones.. but....

If the Douglas who knocked out Tyson.. fought Frazier, what then? I think that Douglas beats Frazier too, but it would have been a much tougher fight...The Douglas of the Tyson fight could've beaten any of the top heavyweights today.. Remember, I am talking about the Douglas who fought Tyson.. That one and only appearance he ever really showed up.. That Douglas, may very well have been rated in the top 10 heavyweights of history.. But he only had the heart to show up for that one fight... That Buster never fought again.. :patsch

    Tokyo Douglas.
    A stranger.
    He rode into town.
    He cleaned it up.
He rode off into the sunset, never to be seen again.

Folks did a thread on this earlier this summer: Tokyo Douglas v FOTC Frazier. A lot of people here were disgusted that a few of us really liked Tokyo Douglas' odds...

Yes, of course, Frazier is just going to stand up to Tyson, outbox him, take him into deep waters, avoid most of Tyson bombs, and then drown him.

Frazier had a similar heart and desire to Holyfield; but a much better defense and body attack.

No, but his chin was remarkable. He was actually able to take flush, clean shots from a prime Foreman and still get up. Foreman's uppercut practically lifted him from his feet and he was able to immediately get up.

Holyfield has also been knocked down several times, yet still got up.

Disagreeing with someone does not equate to trolling. If you need a block list because you're triggered by someone disagreeing, then you shouldn't be on a public debate forum.
