Ive had him on ignore for months, maybe a year?

Hes just a floating turd, no need to fish it out, just let it float down the river.

The more I think about this the more obvious the answer is. Tyson in one. Two guys going head to head: Tyson has much faster and harder punches, KO power in both hands, Joe was a slow starter whereas Tyson was a whirlwind in the early rounds, and Tyson had a better chin. Again, Tyson would stop Joe in one round.

Joe didn't really have the sturdiest of chins but despite that could still get hit a lot. I feel like Tyson could end him early on, but assuming Joe weathers the storm like many others did, I think he could stop him late. Probably the most dangerous fighter ever to face in the late rounds.

Who actually physically weathered the Tyson storm?

I don't think anybody has. Not sure you can weather the Tyson storm. You'd have to get to him early, tie him up, outmaneuver him and drown him in the later rounds. Can Smokin' Joe do this?

He could play it smart and try to tie him up. I won't put it past him to try a different approach, although the Foreman fight really hurts him in that regard.

Obviously I don't think Joe can stand there and just take it all.

And that's why Joes getting sparked.

There's not going to be any miraculous turnaround or weathering any storm. Tyson would drop heavy artillery on Joe and not allow him to recover. Your talking about the greatest finisher the game has seen.

Frazier in his healthy prime was 5''11.

Noway, he was more in the 5''9 1/2 range. Tyson was taller, prime our not.

As much as I admire Smokn' Joe.. I had to re-think my earlier opinion of Joe beating Tyson.. After watching the way he fought Ali, he is just too open for Tyson's fast hooks and uppercuts.. Tyson would have done to him what he did to his son.. If somehow Joe could withstand the the early onslaughts..and take Tyson deep.. he's have a chance of wearing him down and stopping him.. There I go again...

The Joe Frazier before the first Ali fight would have had and easy time of beating the Mike Tyson of the the post Cus D'Amato'/Kevin Rooney era .. Mike wasn't the same after that.. he stopped that crazy head bobbing, not throwing lighting fast combos. Holyfield even said he was untouchable then.. When he started just plodding forward looking to uncork his big blows, not setting them up.. taking shots right down the middle, backing up, plodding forward, take more down the middle, backing up, til he just couldn't take it anymore.. Frazier would have beat that Tyson with ease...:bbb
