Wilder is becoming a bigger joke with each defence.

 

Logic would dictate that he doesn't have a choice, without the title Wilder would be a nobody again and have no chance of facing Wlad for anything approaching a decent payday. But then with Wilder and his team anything is possible so I'm not certain Wilder/Povetkin will happen either.

Duhaupas is VERY good

Had the fight fallen through, many would have said Wilder is ducking him

Duhaupas isn't bad, but he's the definition of a part timer getting a big break here. I'll tell you why Wilders team chose him though Zak.

He's very similar in style to Stiverne, and Scott. In that he fights mostly on the back foot, and is a bit of a slickster with a low output, and offers very little in the form of pressure. Watch a bit of the Charr, and Teper and you'll immediately realize my point, and why Wilders people picked this guy. He's not a tomato can, but stylistically not a threat to Wilder. A hallmark of a great fighter is fighting ALL fighters, and all styles, even those that pose a threat. Deliberately picking those that don't is a crystal clear sign that you're a fraud who's being handled carefully.

 

Duhaupas isn't very good, just ok. You're just trying to prop him up because Wilder's defending against him. Your agenda is crystal clear, even the most unbiased of posters have pointed this out.

Yup. I consider myself as unbiased as they get on this forum (I still have my biases admitedly) but MVC is trolling for Wilder, and you have a good point about Duhaupas being stylistically favorable to Wilder. Looks like you're more willing to admit now Duhaupas is not undeserving of a voluntary defense in general though.

 

No he's definitely worthy, but Wilder already had one of those. Yep Duhaupas isn't bad, but clearly he's being picked here for a reason. I'll say this is a step up from Molina though, but not by much.
