Ali had trouble with the jab at all stages of his career. Doug Jones, Kenny Norton ( All three fights ) , Ron Lyle, Jimmy Young, and much later when he was past it, vs. Larry Holmes
Norton specifically trained on his jab, thats what they worked on,norton was about the same size as ali height and length wise which made matters even worse.Alis reach does not come into play with a bigger reach, add the distance of wlads height makes it even more in favor of his jab landing first.Hooking off that jab ,ali is in deep trouble he would have no answer for that vicious left no one talks about or chooses to ignore.
Even Mildenburger slow and unsteadily off balance fighter backed him up at times and landed cleanly, ali was horribly inaccurate that fight to,his accuracy many times was way overatted. He barely landed anything the first four rounds against Mildenberger he missed most of the punches.Wlad is simply to big/skilled /powerful for him.
Most of the guys who gave Ali problems with the jab were movers, irregardless with what the Wlad fantasists on here say he's no mover, he's mechanical. There's no way he's going to be sticking that jab out and landing regularly not after the first or second round anyway. Ali who let's face it had a great boxing brain would adapt he simply wouldn't be there often enough for Wlad to land it, he'd be giving him movement the likes of which he'd never experienced before, besides being countered with combinations the speed of which he'd also never experienced before. We keep hearing on here what Wlad would be landing on Ali what about what Ali's landing on Wlad? I like Wlad and respect all he's achieved but style wise I think this fight is a nightmare for him. I see him ending up a confused and battered mess and losing by a wide UD or late stoppage,
Whats Norton got to do with the Clinchko? Norton has a jittery, herky- jerky style that was hard to read. He also was a good mover - applied pressure and a high work rate. Wlad is predictable , low work-rate and need to be planted firm into the canvas to punch..and jab. Ali of the 70s could dance around Wlad all night long. He'd have no pressure coming at him whatsoever. No mythical left hook that couldn't even touch David Haye will be even attempted to be thrown at Ali.
Of Ruddock's first 20 fights, 6 were in the US and one in the UK, he had excellent management. His problem was he never learned to listen to his corner, and that's why Floyd Patterson gave up on him. Ruddock had a fine jab and a good right hand, but after koing a few with his "smash", he forgot all about them and become a one dimensional bomber trying to blast everyone out with his big left"smash". You shouldn't mention names you know jacksh*t about, it just highlights what an ignorant clown you are.:-(
I think you'll find, all fighters struggle with a good jab, its just that Wladmir hasnt faced anyone with a good jab. I think youll find Wladmir would soon change his tune when he realises not only is he being outjabbed, but hes too slow to get his own punches off. So far Wladmirs been in control in most of his fights, but when he steps in Alis world hell realise hes in there with a guy who wont be co-operating.
you are off your rocker if you think alis jab is faster and will land first,i suggest you watch the mildenberger fight and see how easily slow punchers hit him with ease.
The only person claiming Wladmir is fast, is you. Do you have any journalists, ****ysts or any educated professionals whose opinion is worth something, who claim Wladmir is faster? If so, please show me. Ali is world renowned by KNOWLEDGABLE (Key word) people as being one of the fastest heavyweights of all times. Mildenburger hit Ali, boohoo, Who got TKOd?
