Briedis on the other hand was crossed off permanently from the list of potential opponents.

Dževad Poturak, a Bosnian, is 52-23-1 (30) and has been a pro for thirteen years. He is 3-0 (1) since returning from retirement.

Zabit Samenov, a Belarusian, is 74-9-1 (35) and has been pro a year longer even though Poturak is six years older.

    :good

I remember you throwing off on him a little bit on a RBR about 6 or 7 months ago, when I was trying to hype him a little.

I thought Briedis would win and by TKO while Charr was along the ropes or something like that, but even the brutality of that KO took me by surprise.

The fact that Briedis looked far smaller than Charr also added to the shock, you just don't really expect a smaller dude to KTFO a big dude like that.

Charr would have been better off fighting someone like Chambers or Szpilka, both of which he'd be 50/50 with
I'd no idea he'd show up so unmotivated vs a guy who was always gonna have a considerable speed advantage and a slight power advantage.

    Poor choice of opponent.

Had Charr landed early to the body and KOD breidis with an OH R he'd gotten ZERO credit for the win.
Now...he's essentially just a name on a prospects resume

Ooh nice...versus Ismael Londt, too. Not bad.

Londt is product of the Dutch school (among the world's most successful programs in kickboxing) and has victories over Poturak, Sergei Lascenko, Hesdy Gergres, and Rico Verhoeven and went the distance with Mirko Cro-Cop.

I remember that, I think my point was that he would top out at roughly Euro level at Cruiser.

...and he would've. Moving up to heavyweight actually was a brilliant move, especially with his power carrying (and wearing the weight comfortably enough to still be so nimble on his feet). He will get better paydays and find the ceiling higher, and perhaps achieve higher a ranking than he ever could have in the increasingly stacked young CW division.
