Roy is widely considered one of the 2 or 3 most athletic boxers ever. People couldn't do what he did. He had the entire package of hand, foot, entire body speed and power to boot. He really was basically a boogeyman fighter. No one that Roy has ever fought had the combination of what he had. And no one he has ever fought was anywhere near as fast as him. What other fighters can you say that about?

If there were more athletic fighters than Roy, then I haven't seen much tape of them.

He was the most gifted athlete I've ever seen inside a boxing ring. That's what enabled him to be successful, because he had a lot of flaws in his game and certainly wasn't the most skilled boxer. But he was a damn fine athlete.

The only one I can think of that might come close, was Herbie Hide when he was coming up around '90. Atleast that's how I remember it, I was still young then. And ofcourse his flaws caught up with him a lot more obvious and sooner.

Floyd never had Jones type of athleticism.

Floyd was more comparable to Toney than Jones

I guess we will never know.

It alway shocks me that people go on gushing about guys like Jones, Holyfield or Morrison, when we really don't know how good these guys were, if they would have been any good at all

    Get real.

If steroids could turn you into a fighter, there'd be millions of boxers in the world.

Pacquiao was a better athlete than Jones. More power, more stamina, more toughness. And his speed wasn't actually that far off of Jones'. Hell, his footspeed and quickness in the ring even surpassed Jones.
