I think they both win and lose a lot of the same fights. I don't see Byrd having too much of a problem with an old Moore, Ingo, Harris, Rademacher, etc.. And Floyd likely beats a lot of the guys Byrd defeated as well, though David Tua would be dangerous. I'll leave out the Vitali fight as I think Klit would beat both of those men with a healthy rotator cuff.

Byrd had more k.os with bigger/tougher Hw's than Floyd. How many time did the great Patterson actually defend his belt if he is such a heavy favored here?:smooch

Floyd would be battered and quit the HW division,he would be battered fighting Byrds opponents.Easy match up to see and pick a winner just based on that.

He defended it 7 times, or 5 times more than the man who took it off him.

He was a 47% stoppage record

    Floyd has 18 actual kos.
    His heavyweight stoppages include:
    Levi Forte199.5lbs
    Charley Green 184lbs
    Bill McMurray 209.5lbs
    Willie Johns 183.5lbs
    Henry Cooper 191.75lbs
    Tom McNeeley 197lbs
    Ingemar Johannson 206.5lbs

Floyd had some of the fastest heavyweight hands ever.

    That was his thing.

Byrd was fast but not in hand speed like Floyd.

Only a fake fighter would be confused on such a subject :hi:

Byrd may have had better reflexes but not hand-speed and power.

    Floyd could punch :bbb

Floyd it shows defended 4 times..regardless...fighters like Jackson on box rec..show he is not a hard hitter with a 36% k.o record...Byrd simply is to big for Patterson when you add in both are skilled on similar level.Byrd would be ak.o puncher in Pattersons era.

again it shows he defended his belt 4 times..if you want to count the in between losses go ahead,i go by consecutive wins.Either way ,I take Byrd in this one,hes stopped much tougher guys like Tua and very good with golota depending on the draw....

    So Byrd wins:huh

A shot to bits Goltoa , walking forward like a Mummy beat Byrd and dropped him twice.

Byrd was average. His weak rope-a-dope impression wouldn't beat the speed of Patterson.

I wouldn't call his rope a dope weak Dino :bbb

I am not saying he would beat Floyd, but Byrd's rope a dope in it's hayday was pretty solid :deal

Completely agree with this statement. Floyd doesn't survive against Tua or the Brothers K, for starters, and he'd probably have problems against several other guys too.

Exactly. And with his handspeed Floyd has a shot of stopping Byrd.
