You are a naive idiot. Boxers say lots of things in public that they don't really believe deep down. Frazier even said one time that Rocky would beat him. It is called being nice and respectful.
I think it would be a fan's type of fight. Two guys with a ton of guts and heart and willing to mix it up. Definitely worth the money.
He sparred with Marciano in the computer make in around 69..ali thought a prime Marciano would defeat Frazier on what he remembers of him not being able to move his arms after and recollected how tough his demeanor was for his reasoning.
Ali was never a real humble person in comparing who could beat him in the same interview he states Marciano would have a good chance to beat him as well but didn't think he would...that liar ali ,how dare he... The only idiot would be the only guy on the thread claiming its not possibly a even fight.:yep
He sparred with him for the computer superfight they had and according to Angelo Dundee the sparring got heated, according to the story Ali demanded more money for the project because Rocky was hurting him. I believe that if I remember that Rocky found he liked Ali when they finally met where prior to he thought he was a loudmouth. And Ali I understand was surprised at how difficult it was to hit him clean without getting hit back. Goldman worked with Rocky to stay low and back and to fight from those positions. With his short arms fighters would have to reach over his body to land right into Rocks strength and power range ingenious really.
he respected boxing enough to be humble face2face with it. And more importantly I suspect he was helpng to sell the ali-rocky computerfight. Sales was the reason he blabbed his mouth for every other reason - stands to reason he blabbed over this one to sell it too. as regards the fight, marcianos way to win would be ko, and ali was never koed. And if it is going to points, Ali has it wrapped up, way more accurate than marciano over 15 rounds. ROcky wuld need multiple knockdowns to overcome that, or that pretty much elusive ko.
Ali "fought" Marciano about 15 years after The Rock retired. I do wonder about that comment; if Ali's feelings towards Frazier contributed to the assessment. Though it seems to have preceeded their animosity. Still, Ali would have had to extrapolate this' we cannot believe that Ali felt RM was actually better in absolute terms at that age, retired forever. They were both incredibly tough & willful. Marciano did have a bit better endurance, if only because he moved less, no bob & weave. He also hit harder with both hands, & I would give him a slight edge in chin, sthough he never fought anyone like Foreman. And he had a better variety of punches. Both were capable of great work rates. But I would favor Frazier. Rocky cut a fair amount. Joe might swell but less of a risk unless jabbed silly by an Ali. Joe larger, though the reach would mean little in a phone book fight. Mainly, Frazier being significantly more accurate & faster would tend to make the difference. Though yes, this is no easy choice.
