Here Marshall drops Ezzard Charles and then Charles gets better and better and knocks out Marshall but hey McVey, his chin wasn't the problem here, he goes down from a great body shot.

I find the idea of rating Paul Pender above Lloyd Marshall nonsensical.

Beat SRR twice,, sure the guy was way past it but as I said I named all those guys off the top of my head, and Pender only lost 6 fights in comparison, two of those to pretty tough and good fighters, Downes and Hairston. Pender ain't ATG material but neither id Marshall.

Marshall beat Ezzard Charles, Charley Burley, Joey Maxim, Holman Williams, Jake Lamotta, Teddy Yarosz, Ken Overlin

That alone makes him an ATG

So you are just going to ignore all his losses ? and 11 KO's,,, Les Darcy is way higher than him, but that isn't bad, Darcy was a genius and a legend but Marshall had too many losses to too many nobodies, plus he lost to Yarosz as well and lost more to Charles, Marshall had a punchers chance and that may account for his wins against better fighters. Ken Overlin, well Fred Hennebury beat him, no you have to account for losses, 20 odd is just too many. There are many great middleweights who had very few losses to be rated below Lloyd.

    Marshall would flatten Darcy

Marshall fought until the 1950s in his 40s that's why he has so many losses

No, Darcy would annihilate him and Marshall had bad losses early and in the middle of his career, he couldn't hurt Darcy, no ever did manage to drop him but a couple of good shots to Marshall's not so good chin and through Lloyds weak defense with a fighter of Darcy's power and ability it would be over. I really can't see how you could say such a thing, you obviously do not know very much about Darcy.

It's kind of nonsensical to compare records of a fighter who died at 21 and one who fought way past his prime.

Darcy was a comer, a guy who was starting to rack up really good victims but he was never allowed to peak... or to really test his flaws... over the duration. He was an incomplete work.

Darcy may be unbeaten but he doesn't have the names on his win sheet Marshall does. Do you think Darcy would have remained unbeaten if he had fought.
    Charles
    Burley
    Maxim
    Williams
    Lamotta etc

    ???????????

Yes he was and as such the jury is still out and no definitive verdict will be forth coming. To paraphrase Klompton ,[I think].

Yeah maybe maybe he loses to a couple but he probably rematches them and beats them up but please do not insult my intelligence, I already showed Marshall is way overrated, Darcy would not have lost to novices, bums and nobodies, and Marshall was knocked out eleven times, his wins over good guys doesn't equal his losses to them,... please look at his record, it wasn't good even if you take off his last ten fights. He is not in Darcy's class, not even close. Darcy was not unbeaten but he did avenge any losses. Sorry but any list that puts marshall or Lytell above Darcy is not worth a damn.

I am sure he beats LaMotta and Maxim and Williams and Burley, maybe 2-1 record against Burley but we will never know will we. Charles I do like a lot and his height a big advantage, a natural big guy, Darcy wasn't.

    I'm not insulting anyone's intelligence and I haven't made a list.
You are making some pretty big claims for Darcy based on him beating .

Darcy is a what if/ might have been . We will never know, to talk him up as you do is patriotic ,but not really objective.

I agree with Klompton's assessment in this case ,so my opinion isn't worth a damn either. For a man having chemo I'd go easy on the macho talk.:bbb

You could probably beat me up but I'm 67 in3 months.
