How would Ali beat Vlad?

More to the point is has Vlad ever been guilty of throwing combinations the way Louis could to finish guys? Or does he just back off and try his single shots again if they don't go down?

Louis 69 fights 75% KO ratio

Vlad 67 fights 79% KO ratio

You would need to be from the Ukraine or stupid, or both to claim the levels of their respective opposition was the same.

 

Well the last quote in the last sentence is exactly my point,a bigger guy wearing little 5 ouncers,would be even more fast and hit harder,if 6'6 240 pluss klitchko fought Louis with those gloves it would be night night in one round for sure.

Put 8/10 ounce gloves on Louis not only does it slow him down more he would have to totally change his stlye of his hands low/parrying defene style. I have a pair of old leather 6 ounders and I disagree which gloves hurt you more...its harder to be more accurate with the bigger gloves also,even if it hits a larger target...to put it simply Louis vs Wlad in a 5 ounce glove match is not a good idea for obvious reasons its like wearing bag gloves,Wlad would easily blast thru Louis's poor guard...fight doesn't make it out of round one.

 

When you are too slow and clueless to nail David Haye in 12 rounds you have got more chance of fukking Miss World than you have of stopping Joe Louis in 1 round.

Well lets look at reality..you haven't given one supporting evidence oif any 60's guy Ali fought on wlads level...couldn't defend why he fought a handicapped guy and that's his best performance...ignored he lost to a prime 5'11 200 pounder,and stole some decision wiins with lesser talent than Wlad....did I miss anything?:roll:

Anyway, I'll leave with this question...how come when you goggle "top 10 greatest heavyweight champions... The opinions from varies boxing pundits and experts show up from around the world... Ali, Louis, Marciano are always in the top ten, if not at the top..? I don't see one that even mentions Wlad.. Could it be the caliber of his opponents compared to the rest..? We know Marciano is underrated for that, yet Wlad, is overated for that...

Joe is more elusive than Haye? I won't get into Joe's vulnerability to the straight right and Wlad having an ATG version of it....Joe got floored by people who wouldn't lay a glove on Haye.

I am not saying Haye was greater than Louis. I am saying that its quite possible you've never actually seen Joe Louis fight if you buy that he's harder to hit than Haye.

 

Heck, I rate Ali #1 at heavyweight a good chunk of the time. There's no problem acknowledging greatness while admitting that they wouldn't destroy the people 40 years later. Nobody makes that argument for any other sport besides boxing. That's not so huge a problem (because of the weight classes) until you get to heavyweights, where you must apparently suspend all disbelief and pretend the usual rules of boxing don't apply anymore. Then the people who are admitting the emperor has no clothes are apparently the idiots.

Nobody thinks Marvin Hagler beats cruiser Holyfield. I dont see people getting offended when someone would pick SRL over Pep. Or Hopkins over Aaron Pryor. These fantasy matchups dont even get made, for good reason. Only when it comes to classic heavyweights do people pretend physics, weight differences, and size differences stop mattering. In the short run there can be exceptions, but in the long run, that's just how it is.

 

Your logic makes sense.. The debate is useless....more people know or think they know about heavyweight boxers than any other weight
class and that finding a consensus about who the greatest heavyweight of all time is... can be a maddening exercise. I know it's got me more worked up than I should let it.. When it gets to that point.. It's time to jog on...:hi: let it go with no hard feelings towards anyone..

The FACT IS - the 60's Ali would wipe his ass with that GOOF! He had the blinding handspeed and VERY long reach to consistently nail Wlad, and enough pop to crack his **** poor chin.

Ali by stoppage, and anyone who thinks otherwise has drank the Kool-Aid of Wlad beating 100 no-talent bums in a row.
