Who wins and how? LMW/MW. Either class.

Jackson by KO in either class. (Not to say Mugabi has no chance)

The Hawk, via KO. Mugabi gets overrated by the same people who want you to believe Hagler could have stopped Roy Jones, Gennady Golovkin and Joe Calzaghe on the same night.

Jackson's huge, clean KO wins over Norris and Drayton top anything Mugabi ever did. It's a sign of the nostalgia of otherwise knowledegable people that about 3 months ago all but one of Boxing News' main writers had Mugabi beating Gennady Golovkin. Madness.

In all fairness, John went 10/11 rounds with Hagler.

Surely if he can take punishment for that long (and Marvin could whack himself) surely it's not out of the realms (because of that and because of John's power, too) that he could stop Julian?

Who was the writer, out of curiosity? One of them likened Diego Corrales to Tommy Hearns in a Mayweather/Hearns fantasy fight, saying that Floyd had no problem with tall fighters!:lol:

It was Danny Flexen, Matt Christie and two other guys. Think the question was something like 'Golovkin faces Hearns, Hagler and Mugabi, how many wins does he get?'. All of them had him losing every time apart from one who gave him a slight edge over Mugabi.

Yeah good point about just how bad some experts are in these 'what-ifs', The Ring magazine once rated Evander Holyfield 3rd of all-time at heavyweight and had Oscar De La Hoya stopping Thomas Hearns another time haha.

Probably Jackson.. But any time you have two colossal punchers with limited defense and durability anything can happen.... Anything.....

Jackson within 3. Just a better fighter than Mugabi. Much better technically skilled, better technique, quicker, more accurate. Also, about a good 3 inches taller than Mugabi, which doesn't hurt. Mugabi would come forward winging wildly, get countered, and would wake up 20 minutes later in the dressing room.

I go with Jackson by mid round KO, in a very good fight. Mugabi was a pretty good fighter, I think Jackson was a little bit better and had a better punch. Jackson may have been the biggest puncher I have seen, just great power.

That probably wouldn't happen, HOWEVER, Mugabi was a huge step up from guys like Macklin and Geale. He was better than Lemieux as well, and Lemieux is the first legit puncher Golov has faced. So, let's at least wait until after GGG-Lemieux.

Mugabi wins in a wild fight.

I liked Mugabi pre Hagler thats all. He was but was a technical stalker who was hittable but fought with the stern confidence that his next shot was the one that would win the fight.

I have to go with a Jackson win around the mid rounds with the ref stepping in to give him the TKO.
