Tex Cobb vs Shannon Briggs

I'd take Briggs ... he could really crack. On the other hand, as others have pointed out, if Cobb gets out of the early rounds more or less intact, he could possibly outpoint him down the stretch.

 

the only way to lose to Cobb is if you get tired of hitting him, he had a strong chin like Puritty and a lot of heart, some power if he could land on you but he needed many....Briggs wins unless the early lack of stamina Briggs

Does anyone have any info or footage of Cobb's fight with Dee Colier? Never saw that match or read much about it. Strange how Tex lost one round to that type of opponent given his durability and competitiveness against better men. Anyway, Cobb vs Briggs is a pick em' fight for me. Tex had the better chin but Briggs had greater power and size.. Neither were terribly skilled. I can see it going either way.

 

A 50-50 fight here, but if I were to put money down, I would bet on Cobb outlasting him.

1989 dokes would stop briggs....briggs was always horrible

 

Dokes was actually pretty good imho.

 

Late 80s Dokes wasn't that good. He looked good against Holy but everyone has. Early 80s Dokes was good, but not great.
