For the record, I favor Norton too.... But basing that prediction on a result that a man had in his 11th pro bout AND in a totally different division AND against an opponent who bore no similarities to the one he's being compared too is daft to say the least...
A lot of the reason why I doubt Norton is his late start in boxing. Guys like that never get quite the same reflexes and awareness of lifetime boxers. I think Haye would get something big in.
Haye has chances early, but that is it. After 4 rounds it becomes hard for him, and the longer it goes the more trouble he is in. I wouldn't rule out an early KO win for David, but I'd put money on Norton stoppage 8th - 10th rounds.
Haye had the power to stop Norton. He stopped Chisora at 247lbs. Ruiz at 231lbs. Barrett 226lbs. Also Harrison. This after unifying the Cruiserweight divsion. In short he was an explosive puncher. Would he beat Norton? I would lean Norton because Haye was not a come forward attacker. I think Norton would be able to establish his rhythm and outwork Haye after the early going of the fight. Norton UD over Haye in a solid s**** would be my guess. But Haye def had the power to stop Norton I just don't think he would.
I'm trying very hard to remember any prime world class opponents who Haye ever beat and likewise I just can't do it..
The old version Tony Tubbs knocked out the 327 pounds Sargent in the first round.Tubbs never was a hard puncher. The weight means nothing.
:good Agree.. Bum ass Haye would be an easy fight for him. Haye was more vulnerable that Norton ever was, Norton took massive puches from Holmes, something Haye would never have been able to do
I disagree. when you knock out heavier opponents on a consistent basis it's usually a good indicator that you can punch.
