Seriously, what are you watching? Joe Louis off balance!! ****ing Joe Louis! Incorrect hand positioning Joe Louis!! You're getting worse, the hole you're digging is taking up sink hole proportions! Uncle Clemmy please log out forever.
No. I'll post my point again because there seems to be a misinterpretation. My claim is that Louis was easier to hit than Haye, and Haye getting decked by Barrett does nothing to change that. To his credit, he almost always got off the deck to win, and was the far greater fighter (he rotates with Ali as my #1 heavy), but Joe was more hittable. Fantastic combination puncher, supremely efficient delivery and technique, ATG finisher, absolutely.....but defensive great? That shoe doesn't fit Joe.
Cheers, and fair enough- even with the general trend, there is room for short term exceptions, and Ali was an exceptional fighter!
All in good fun, chief! At the end of it, part of what makes boxing arguments fun is that the old timers have the best chance of competing against their modern counterparts than any other sport.
Ive said it several times, anyone would see that if they back tracked your dumbness...and I don't have anything its in the Austin fight when he ends it with 5 hooks thrown and only one lands ,by the time he hits the floor the others are already in motion. The problem is you don't really study fighters ,you come on here thinking a debate can be won with a namesake and notoriety of a famous fighter and disregard actual facts and logic....it doesn't work like that! The only strange thing here is posters like yourself who big up past time greats to mythical proportions as if they were more advanced or invincible. Modern fighters post 60's started becoming much more seasoned and well rounded then they ever were then in the Louis era and so forth ...:yep
Mind boggling how any modern fan can say Louis had good defense and footwork compare to the advancements of more athletic and smarter fighters that came after him!:-(
I bow to those folks as well. I have no doubt you could probably multiply both your list and mine by dozens, and all of them would show that consumate ease with which they plied their trades.:good
he throws 5 hooks at Austin, 1 misses completely, 2 hit mildly and 2 hit pretty solid,,, you should really get your facts straight termite, you are coming across like a total idiot that is not even capable of watching a fight and reporting upon its reality if you or anyone disagrees, go watch the clip :bbb
I've told you once, and I'll tell you again. Take up flower arranging, because you know less than FUK ALL about boxing. The way Joe Louis set people up for his lightning fast power combinations can't be taught you moronic garbage, otherwise every other fukking Heavyweight would have tried to emulate him. Similarly the way Ali danced, teased, and taunted his opponent to lunge, and stretch themselves to try to reach him, so he could counter them to pieces can't be taught. You really are making yourself look like a clueless di ck head with your ignorance, so do yourself a favour and EFF OFF, until your grandfather, or someone of a similar age educates you enough to allow you to post on grown up forums.
Ok, I will try my best to clarify my position also. I am stating that Joe Louis was not easier to hit than David Haye. I am further saying that it was only the two biggest most useless dummies he ever fought ( Valuev, and Vlad Klitchko ) that gave the impression he was hard to hit. I don't think I can be any clearer than that TBH. To go even further I don't think David ( to plagiarise Larry Holmes ) was fit to carry Ali's, Louis's, Frazier's, Foreman's, Holmes, Tyson's, Holyfield's, Lewis's jock straps as a Heavyweight. But he made Vlad Klitchko look clueless, cumbersome, and naive, at world level, and all by refusing to engage Vlad, at Vlad's own M.O.
EVERYONE knows that sh it for brains. What the overwhelming majority of us are telling you is VLAD KLITCHKO is NOT one of them.:roll: Unless you are blind, moronic, or both, that shouldn't be too difficult to work out. Flip a coin, Ali / Louis, it doesn't matter which. Both humiliate, ridicule, embarrass, and more than likely, stop a fukking idiot like Vlad Klitchko. 2 are Barcelona, Klitchko is Plymouth Argyle. It is called class. They had it in spades, he can only dream of it.
You seem a bit riled up here, mate. Take Wlad out of the picture. He's clearly gotten to your gray matter. Do you think James Braddock and Tony Galento knock down Haye?
