Bowe could train for 15 minutes and still wipe his ass with Peter. The only reason people are saying this would be a "very good fight" is because this forum is flooded with Wlad groupies who wanna make their hero look better. There'd be nothing competitive about this fight. Bowe would beat Peter within an inch of his life.
The guy who was never stopped vs the guy who never stopped anybody of note? Firstly, i feel Peter's power is slightly overrated. Secondly, in his entire career, he stopped ONE world class fighter, Maskaev, and even he was stopped by pretty much everyone. Thirdly, Peters power is the thudding type, it hurts alot but not enough to knock you out, hes not like Tyson, a guy who can put your lights out with one punch. Hes more like Foreman, but nowhere near. Tyson, id favour to KO Bowe, Peters? not really. Peter would probably hurt Bowe, but Bowe will just fight back stronger and with Futch in his corner, hed probably fight smarter. The guy who went toe to toe with a much more superior fighter in Holyfield, is not getting stopped by a caveman like Peter. Sorry, i just dont see it. Bowe pummels Peter from start to finish with some shaky moments. Depending which Bowe turns up obviously
I agree that Bowe should be favoured here, but if he tries to turn it into a sloppy brawl, then I think Peter rocks his world and sits him down. It's basically Bowe's fight to lose.
Peters power was slightly overrated, he ain't dropping Bowe. Hurt him, yes. But Bowe fights back and beats him ****less.
I guess we disagree then. Bowe should be able to outbox Peter without too much trouble from range. And I don't think Peter has the footwork to dictate the fight. In close, I think Sam's chin and power will be too much. This could actually have been quite a good one.
Bowe doesn't really have a more impressive record of knockouts. He stopped glass chined Hide and tko'd an exhausted Holyfield who was in poor form. He didn't even get rid of Golota.
Peter wouldn't have a hope in hell, his style suits Bowe. He would have a punchers chance but that's it and Bowe had a solid chin, would take more than one big punch to take him out. Bowe at his best dominates and beats up Peter and stops him every time.
Watch Peter almost get knocked out by journey man Jameel Macline in the second round. Anybody stating he could be even remotely successful against Bowe is buried ballz deep in k2 mania.
Golota got rid of himself because Bowe put on the pressure and kept coming forward, Jason Voorhees style. Bowe was considered the best of his generation in a packed decade called the 90's. Peter barely sniffs the Top 10 o his generation, generally perceived as the weakest in the division's history. Bowe in a friggin whitewash drubbing
fat sam wouldn't have go in contention in bowe's time. he wasn't even capable of conditioning for a championship pro boxing fight. In an era when even basic guys were conditioned for them, he falls fast.
Yet, somehow a coked out zombie in Mike Dokes, a cruiser in Herbie Hide, a perennial journeyman in Ferguson and a glorified amateur in Gonzalez all got title shots with Bowe. Are you going to tell me that any of those guys at the time they fought Bowe was even as good as a prime Sam Peter?
