    :patsch Pbf :patsch

Honestly, though, I think that he's trying to sell the Berto fight because sales have tanked.

So what would you expect Ali to do? Drop 40-50lbs to win titles and receive a fraction of what he'd made as a heavyweight?

Never mind the difference in comp between the two along with the number of belts that are available now verses then.

Honestly, the logic by some posters on this site isn't even at a high school level.

Floyd may be a ****, but at least he was never a guest speaker at a Klan rally where he supported them.

Oh, and he's right about ranking higher than Ali p4p, too.

Because Ali never told everyone he's the greatest?

If Ali was foghting today telling everyone he's the greatest he would be one of the most hated boxers around. People would say he could never beat fighters like Tyson, Lewis, Bowe, Holyfield, just like a lot of people say Floyd could never beat Duran, Leonard, Hearns.

It has nothing to do with how good they, other generations will always be better to a lot of people, whether its true or not. And they can never fight so we'll never really know, that's why a lot of people are so opinionated and vocal on fantasy fights that can never happen because they can never be proved wrong.

    Marciano never lost.

    Calzaghe never lost.

    Ottke never lost.

    Are they the best ever?

You have to remember who started "TBE"... Floyd.

Mayweather is indeed on the way to being called an all time great, but let's just get things into perspective here. At no point has there been genuine fear of Mayweather losing to anyone because there's always been a "catch". Either his opponent has been past their prime or come up in weight or had a size disadvantage etc. At no point has it been said that a Mayweather opponent could end his career or hospitalise him or even kill him! When Ali faced both Liston and Foreman people genuinely feared for his life FFS! Not just the fans but the boxing Jornalists of the day. Ali took on anyone and everyone without there having to be an angle. Also, just comparing what each of them bought to sport in general, there is no comparison, Ali trumps Mayweather in that respect all day long. Ali isn't just arguably the greatest boxer of all time, he is arguably the greatest sportsman of all time.

Translation, Floyd's skill was never underrated so he was favored to win just about every fight he was in.. Ali wasn't favored or the masses thought he would lose but he won.. That's why Ali is better..

That's a stupid reason to think someone is better but to each his own...

Just compare Mayweathers biggest fight against Pacquiao with The Thrilla in Manilla. Watched Mayweather/ Pacquiao once and will never revisit it again, watched Ali/ Frazier 3 more times than I can remember because it is one of the greatest fights of all time between 2 all time greats. Being a "great" isn't just about keeping the "0" intact or juicing your way up through the weights. Ali was the defining individual in the greatest era of heavyweight boxing. Mayweather us as wealthy as he is in large part to Ali's legacy and truly bringing the sport to the masses. I would live to know how many people watched Ali fight live in comparison to Mayweather. Has Mayweather ever fought outside the old US of A? Mayweather fights great, Ali was a great fighter...

I'll take an evenly contested 12 or 15 round war over a boring boxing master class every day of the week I'm afraid

I never said that Ali is a better boxer than Mayweather either, but more entertaining because he was far less risk averse, hell yeah

+ that he never fought in Cuba or Indonesia.

I like Tankatron's keys to being the best to be honest with ya. It's why I'm picking Berto. Duh.
