donovan ruddock vs geroge foreman 1991 ?????

Ruddock far to fast and strong for him,no one wanted to fight Razor but Tyson TWICE...he would be way to strong/fast and long...he would be basically the reason why Foreman ran over a decade from holmes and never fought him ,he was also stripped of his belt from avoiding Tucker...Ruddock would possibly stop him,power/speed is a death sentence for foreman that's why they never fought.

The Ruddock that fought Tyson decisions Foreman. The post-Tyson Ruddock was not the same so Big George might have a chance to stop him.

 

I think Ruddock gets over rated by the Tyson fights. He had his moments against Tyson no doubt but they were odd spurts between moments of him getting his ass kicked for most of the fight.

Ruddock only won one round on the judges scorecards of the first fight and lost widely on the scorecards of the 2nd fight and it would have been even wider if not for all the points deductions.

Ruddock surprised everyone with his durability in both fights and his ability to fire back in spurts with powerful shots. But Ruddock's work rate made old Foreman look like prime Frazier. Ruddock only threw 246 punches over 12 rounds against Tyson in the rematch. That's only 20.5 punches per round, that isn't going to be enough to out point even an old Foreman who threw 444 against Holyfield. Ruddock was always looking for that big single shot and wouldn't work much between it and would lose rounds to Foreman because of this.

Ruddock would have his moments no doubt, landing that smash of his in spurts but Foreman would out work him and maybe even stop him if Foreman can land cleanly.

 

I agree with the above. And foreman's cross arm defense, two fisted attack and tendency to give a nasty gut check in the clinches would also be factors in my opinion.

 

Could be a frightful beating for George. It was around this time that the relatively hapless Alex Stewart smashed George's face to pulp. A focussed Ruddock could certainly do that trick or worse.

Referees would probably be quicker to pull George out of action, also, as a geriatric at that time was still very much a novelty and a risk.

 

Foreman couldn't even over power Axel Shultz?Yea sure he will be physically stronger than Ruddock.Didnt Ruddock knock down Morrison something Foreman couldnt do despite winning the first 3 rounds?...:roll:

 

Ruddock is a step too far for 40something George.

 

Schultz never stood in front of Foreman and traded at will with him, thereby making it NOT a battle of power or strength.

 

Axel Shultz stood in front of him a large part of the time even pushing him back and making it a physical fight,foreman would not over power Ruddock.
