All trolling aside loudon, why would nt Floyd take a fight with Liston? Liston was champ and Ali was the mandatory.

If Floyd was a heavyweight he would have fought the champion just like Ali did. Why would a number 1 contender duck the champ?

Agreed. Floyd won't have the long term impact Ali did, but hate to say it, he is the better boxer. Tougher to beat H2H, fewer mistakes, and he's more dominant doing it.

Ali actually has a losing record (2-3) in his first fights against the 5 best names he fought- Liston, Frazier, Norton, Holmes, and Foreman. Of the 2 he beat, only Foreman was prime. Winning trilogies is nice (even if Norton should've won theirs), but you don't need them when you dominate.

Floyd doesn't need trilogies and has been facing P4P fighters going all the way back to Chico. The two rematches he had, he won soundly.

He won't ever be remembered as fondly, but in the ring? Floyd is better.

Maybe what Floyd needed to do was lose a fight to Cotto, Pac, Hatton, or Canelo, let that win really legitimize the opponent, then win the trilogy.

You can't win the ring pound for pound by ducking..

Glad somebody gets it. Usually people just hate Floyd so much they abandon all reason. Mayweather is better than Ali, but Ali is greater. H2H, if they were equal size, I'd favor Floyd to beat Ali.

Ali should never have been fighting in his mid 30's, because he'd already put his body through too much at that stage. But Floyd has great discipline and it should be highly respected.

It was pointless in my opinion for Floyd to enforce a catchweight against Canelo. Because all he did was take the shine off of his win. Whatever Canelo goes on to achieve, Floyd will never get full credit for beating him. Which I think's a shame. In my opinion, Floyd would have beaten Canelo whatever he'd have weighed. And the more he'd have weighed, the more credit Floyd would have received. But now there'll always be doubt with some fans.

You're entitled to your opinion. But I don't think he'd have taken on guys like Duran and SRL etc. They were on another level to the guys you've listed above. Rematching Maidana doesn't impress me at all, because I don't even rate Maidana as a world class fighter.

Floyd doesn't get close to women?? I wonder why? Ask Leonard
He surrounds himself with skanky hookers as a smokescreen though lol

    Who's trolling?

You're entitled to your opinion. If you think Floyd would have fought guys the equivilant of Liston etc, that's fine. But I don't. I don't think he'd ever have put himself in the situations that Ali put himself in.

Let's say Duran was at his peak at LW when Floyd fought there. Do you think Floyd would have taken the fight? I don't. I think Duran would have done a complete psyche job on him.

Ali fought a peak Holmes when he way past his best. That would be like Floyd taking on peak versions of say Oscar or Manny today. Now do you get the point?

I agree with the Alvarez catchweight, just like the Marquez farce, dulled the wins which he would have got regardless, with similar patterns, utter domination and no excuses available. You could also have brought up the gloves with Maidana but it's not exactly a new trick that the ''A-side'' pulls. Of course Maidana is no great, but his style is the ultimate kryptonite for Mayweather and it was a brutal fight for the most part, it is commendable he goes straight back in to set the record straight against a potential bogey man, styles make fights and this style will always cause more problems than anything for him regardless of classes of fighter. Not saying Leonard and Hearns don't stop him but Maidana is a formidable foe for Floyd and we don't have Leonard or Hearns or Hagler, do we? We saw adversity which is what people scream at him for rarely having. He has fought everybody available except Golovkin (Margarito was a threat but he is far too predictable unlike Maidana, 75% in a recent poll here say May wins. Martinez was never going to happen, I wouldn't like him or GGG at 154 either, drained obviously), who, yes if he wants to be up there in the literal TBE equation, he should fight him at 160, but he obviously thinks it's not a good idea, which it isn't. He could push himself further but he has fought a who's who of the era when you look back. Him and Manny have equal resumes imo, Manny has the mexican classics and Bradley, Mayweather beat better versions of their common opponents if we go by that favourite ''timing'' his critics have. Canelo and Bradley are just about equal scalps regarding their last great individual win.

All Tony did was walk quietly up to Mayweather & ask him " Why wont you fight me" ? Mayweather was terrified literally soiled his pants. This was verified by a guy that was there. Its on video go watch it Floyd stammered & stuttered like Daffy Duck:rofl:rofl

Floyd fought Mosely when he was clean. Mosely was juiced to the gills AGAIN!! against a Margarito who was weight drained . had back problems & hadn't trained properly plus had gone through that circus with Richardson blatantly lying
a 100% Margarito would have cotto'd Mosely juiced or not

    VIVA TIJUANA TORNADO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
