Lewis pull the 2 week trick?? Are you nuts? Name me one other world champ that put his title on the line against his #1 contender when he was barely 80% ring ready at a few days notice ? You cannot their isn't one. Lennox was ready for a warm up against Kirk Johnson who we knew hadn't been training properly. You say Vitali staggered Lennox ?? lol What about that uppercut that nearly decapitated Vitali?? Vitali didn't know if he was in Vegas or Vladivostok LOL Oh & please don't mention WLAD !! He ran for the hills & disappeared when he saw what Lennox did to Vitali
Lennox Lewis is the best HW champion since Ali Its way overdue for HRH Queen Liz to say "ARISE SIR LENNOX" !!!

I doubt he would and that is the reason he ducked $50m. If Lewis thought he could have had a few more cookie defenses like Botha he'd have continued but the wbc ordered the Vitali rematch after Vitali demolished Johnson, who Lewis would defo have faced had the wbc ordered that. He should have had at least three fights with Vitali but he chickened out and claimed he was the better man via a cut he opened up with dirty boxing on the guy. Unsatisfactory ending to Lewis's career. If we're talking 90's hw's then Holyfield is the true warrior, not Lewis, as he would not have walked away at 37, or even 45 . Holyfield was still prime at 37.

Kirk Johnson was supposed to be Lewis's opponent that night.. Not Mike Tyson. This is a factual error on your part and it can easily be looked up. And calling Vitali Klitschko green in 2003 is staggering to say the least considering his amateur background and the claim to having 33 pro fights and wins over several contenders not to mention being in his early thirties.. And I'm assuming you're also aware he was a #1 ranked contender?? I mean seriously.. This stuff is really getting out of hand..

At the time is the key word...Lewis clearly training for a big puncher similar to Vitali would give the advantage over him, having the size over Vitali would only be an advantage not a hinderance unless it goes longer than expected ,Vitalis punches also drained stamina from lewis these are facts! You can claim lewis and Steward to be liars all you like ,the plan was to k.o Vitali early and fight Wlad and a few more fights..its on RECORD!:nut

Some of us have been debating this fight on forums for the better part of a decade, not to mention saw it live and was following the sport religiously when it happened. Believe me.. Every angle and every detail you can think of has been covered on here a thousand times before you ever arrived... You bring nothing new to the table.

Tyson was originally in the works when that fell thru KJ stepped up ...not really hard to figure this out that lewis took some time off with the Tyson fall out.You cannot be a seasoned pro and fight the opponets Vitali did...its like going from glass joe to the sandman practically in terms of level jump....its common sense who had the advantage with experience and skill....Vitali had strength and chin which pulled hi throught he fight,he would have all in a rematch!Getting out of hand? ...sorry not my fault you brit has facts against him, these are facts as anyone can look up ANYTHING I usually post!:-(

Vitali demolished Kirk Johnson?? Big deal Everyone knew Kirk was there just for the paycheck He was way overweight & hadn't trained. Kirk lost his interest in boxing when Joe Cortez & the Oscar winning acting of Jon Ruiz robbed him of a KO win & a title he deserved
So now Lewis fought dirty to win huh?? Jeez Face facts man Lennox ,barely 80% ready nearly took Vitali's face off TKO 6 & made his little brother go into hiding. Lennox had nothing left to prove he retired at exactly the right time.
As for Holyfield didn't Lennox beat him TWICE!!!!!!!!! I rated Vander too till the "Evan Fields " story broke

    !!!!ARISE SIR LENNOX!!!!!!

You got caught citing wrong information and you still won't give up. Kirk Johnson was supposed to be Lewis's opponent up until two weeks prior to the fight changing. Deal with it.

Regardless of his reasoning he had fought only once in 19 months.. Vitali had fought three times within the same duration. Lewis had more rust.. No getting around that.

He was a veteran of 33 pro fights. A former world titlist. A #1 ranked contender... An amateur champion.. In his early 30's and had a physical advantage over about 99% of the division. If he wasn't ready for a declining Lewis who was ripe for the picking then, he was never going to be.. No amount of finagling is going to make your position more palatable or believable..

Yes.. It is indeed common sense that the older veteran champion generally has more experience.. How was this example any different from most instances in boxing history? There is also a factor of the older guy being more diminished, past his prime, less active and ready for greener pastures, a concept that for whatever reason has seemed to evade you..

    :-

NOTHING... And I mean absolutely NOTHING you've written here today is fact.. You've been caught in several false hoods that are clearly black and white with no grey in between and your angles on the subject hardly represent the norm. I'm finished going back and forth with you on this topic.. I think I'll go find a concrete wall to converse with instead.. At least it won't lie..

Well, he brings an astonishing lack of self-awareness and a level of stupid I haven't seen here since his last visit in 2013.

I wish folks who are undeniably WRONG would have the decency, cojones/confidence when confronted with the evidence to ADMIT it. Many here are saying the same thing.

Like Vitali being green despite his advanced age & # of amateur & professional fights in '03.

**** Holyfield still being prime at 37. No he was NOT. Check his record at 30 & then AFTER that. Even when younger & he fought Tyson he was past prime, but very well trained & motivated for that spoecific opponent.

And how was Lewis dirty when Vitali was cut?

If you made ANY of the above statements-do not ignore the arguments, address what you claimed. Accoutability is everything for being Fair, arriving at the truth, & having any credibility.

If you cannot defend a position: regain respect & develop maturity by apologizing for being mistaken.
And for extra credit & good Karma, admit your transparent bias.

All three judges gave Lewis the last round so no Lewis wasn't getting outboxed, in fact he was walking Vitali down.

It's pretty well known both Vitali and Steward said the same thing, which is that his wife Violet told him if you fight a rematch I'm outta here. So he chose to save his marriage over a rematch. We fans don't have to like it but we have to respect his decision.
