How would Ali beat Vlad?

I'm cool if the debate has descended into name calling. I feel, just as Wlad would have the edge on Ali because of his size and the way their styles mesh, that pretty much anybody has the edge on Dinohelmet and the Turd Trolls in name calling.

First you have to look at their negative attributes - their "clown quotient", if you will - which is extremely high. They're characterized by absurd hyperbole, childish name-calling and rage-induced ranting. Their positives are an OCD fixation on the Klitschkos and turds ... wait, did I say that was a positive? My bad.

The ringleader of the "Turd Trolls" is obviously Dinohelmet, and I suspect that he got this moniker from Dark Helmet in Space*****, for obvious reasons. Not just because he's a little, little man with pretensions to greatness, but because he has everything ass-backwards. Sadly, it's obvious that this nickname flew straight over Dino's head, and even if he did get it, he probably views Dark Helmet as a worthy role model anyway. He views Space***** as a documentary, so it's not a big step in logic to take, imho.

As for Terrell, he was beaten by Wayne Bethea, Johnny Gray, Thad Spencer and Manuel Ramos amongst others, who are nonentities in boxing terms. Yet your Man of Steel was unable to KO ol' Earnie.



This tells me your Man of Steel simply doesn't have the big cannons to fluster Wlad. Ali's going to have to outbox a man who specializes at fighting at range, with a serious size and reach disadvantage. Not looking good.

Unlike some other posters I think that Ali had the skills to pull it off. But Ali's walking uphill on this one, and I favour Wlad, because he has the edge in this matchup.

How does Wlads size go against Ali when he has a history of only struggling with swarmers with a high workrate.

How is Ali's style made to order for Wlad when he has never looked good against guys with good movement?

Ali most certainly does have the firepower to stop Wlad. Bet on it.
That's the thing with Ali; for a so-called featherfist he managed to dent some good chins, and not by wearing them down either.
Foreman, Lyle and Bonavena to name three. You can argue that George was gassed, but a real featherfist does not take an iron-chinned fighter like George out, no matter what.
Ali had great timing and he hit with great accuracy. To boot, he was a slashing type of hitter who could cut a fighter. There is no doubt in my mind he could and would lay Wlad out if the opportunity came his way.

What I find strange is that Sanders was not regarded by anyone as a big puncher until he starched Wlad. He was known to have some power, but not this almost legendary power he has been imbued with since.

As for this supposed huge size disadvantage, I don't get it. Sanders was barely bigger than prime Ali at 6'4" and 220 when he fought Wlad. Certainly not a big, monstrous heavyweight. Ali was 6'3" and 210. The difference between Sanders and Ali is totally negligable.
If Corrie had no problem reaching Wlad, why should Ali?
This 'huge' size discepancy really is completely overblown and for all intents and purposes, a non-issue.
