With the current state of my finances plus the way they treated that poor Irish girl Nanny in Boston, I doubt it Dutchie! :good

 

This might sound very selfish of me, but in one sense it would be okay if no extra Irish boxers qualify for Rio through the world championships - It would make this year's seniors one of the best ever!!

I know its all water under the bridge now - but I met a fella today who had bought a lot of tickets for Limerick and told me that when going for his refund they told him only 4,000 tickets had been sold.

He also said (pinch of salt maybe here) that Spike has said to him that Billy Joe has been hitting the bottle and is in baaaad shape.
As I say - take it with a pinch of salt - but Ive yet to see a photo of Billys cut.....

I think so. Barnes mentioned it in an interview recently. If Irvine wins gold or silver in the worlds then Barnes said it would be only fair for him to get a box off.
I sincerely hope Irvine goes up to 52kg. He'd have a great chance of qualifying for Rio and with months of strength & conditioning work he could rightly fill into the weight

 

it's only only if Irvine wins gold in the worlds did paddy say he'd give him a box off. But id assume the iaba have the authority to sanction one if Irvine fulfills the qualifying criteria (makes the final), whether they do or not is another story

 

Sounds like a knowledgeable fellow alright,BJS has photos and a video of the cut being stitched,four stitches inside six outside thats what the doctor said anyway as he was stitching it

 

Any predictions on how the youth team will fare in Russia. They appeared to be a talented squad

 

Don't want to sound pessimistic but it will be hard to get decisions against Eastern european teams in Russia, in saying thT they could do well
