What on earth are you talking about. Lara made no peeps about GGG until after the Adama fight was signed, maybe even fought.

If you want to have any credibility, you would have to say he signed to fight Lee instead. At the time though, that line of thinking only caught traction among extreme haters because everyone actually was asking why a Haymon guy neglected to speak up when GGG was looking for a Monaco opponent when it was common knowledge HBO was going to be a major impediment to fighting a Haymon fighter.

Then of course the Lee bout was cancelled, and Lara went on to fight Canelo anyhow so the issue went away. If GGG ends up fighting in Monaco again next year against a non-mandatory/non-unification type of opponent and Lara tries to get that fight - then claims of ducking would have some credibility.

Bro Lara has been calling out GGG for a year or so now, you can argue semantics but Lara has been calling him out.
I think Golovkin beats Lara he still ducked him.

Like I said I'm have no problem with GGG I'm just calling a spade a spade this most feared thing is Bullsh!t and just hype, he is nowhere near an ATG, and is certainly not unbeatable between 154-68. What mandatory or unification fights has GGG taken over Lara none, what opponents has he fought better than Lara none.

The ridiculous thing is I legitimately dislike Lara I laughed when he ran from Canelo and when he responded to GGGs 154-68 claim I wanted GGG to stop him but he ducked a duck is a duck is a duck.

Yes, it looks like Golovkin is an ATG middleweight right now.

    * Tied with Monzon for 2nd in all-time consecutive middleweight defenses (14). Only Hopkins has more (20).

    * 8th longest title reign by time in middleweight history.

    * 15-0-0-0 (15) in major title fights in his middleweight career.

Here's how Hopkins and Hagler stack up in those categories

    -Hopkins 20 consecutive middleweight defenses
    -Hagler 12 consecutive middleweight defenses

-Hopkins 1st longest title reign by time in middleweight history
-Hagler 5th longest title reign by time in middleweight history

-Hopkins 20-3-1-1 (13) in major title fights in his middleweight career
-Hagler 13-1-1-0 (12) in major title fights in his middleweight career

    Information from:

    * http://boxrec.com/boxer/356831 (GGG)

At this point in time (before the Lemieux fight), Golovkin has the same number of middleweight title fights in his career, and a better record in them, than Hagler did in his entire career. That's a heck of an accomplishment for anyone.

Golovkin is about 18 months away from catching Hagler for 5th-longest middleweight title reign in boxing history.

If I were K2, I would set up Golovkin to try to match or break any middleweight records out there. He may never get to Hopkins' records, but he can probably catch or beat out most of the rest of the pack. So if you're going to fight Ward, make Ward come down to middleweight so that bout helps GGG towards his middleweight goals.

Is GGG a middleweight ATG? Yes, he is. Now it's just a question of how high up the list he's going to get. The only way he "ruins" his "ATG-ness" now is if he suddenly started to lose or fade away. If that happened, like he went on a losing streak, then maybe he just hangs up the gloves and preserves his legacy. But that doesn't look like it's very likely in the near future, a losing streak.

Honestly what I am saying has nothing to do with who I think wins or doesn't. The timeline just doesn't support your accusations of ducking Lara for Adama.

Plus there is a business angle, and we all know how difficult it is for HBO and Haymon guys to fight - especially when HBO is footing the bill. This year GGG fought Murray in Monaco, arguably the #2 at 160 at the time so its hard to construe that as a duck either. People would have said he was ducking Murray had he fought Lara instead. Plus as long as both guys won, the GGG-Murray fight was in the works from the second GGP signed him, as getting a top shelf opponent to get GGG back in Monaco was the singular reason GGP signed Murray in the first place.

As soon as he lost, his contract was over. Now Murray is with Matchroom.

Like I said, lets see if and who he fights next year overseas. If he takes an Adama light touch when better guys are available then criticisms will be valid. HBO doesn't underwrite the overseas bouts, so K2 can more or less fight whomever they want outside the USA.

    For sure

His am record is absolutely insane

His never been dropped (sparred with Sergey) is insane

In this day and age, resume means very little

You now have to rely on what you see in front of you

And Triple God is amongst the best ive ever seen

Dude your arguing semantics GGG has ducked Lara for at least a year or so. If you wanna keep a fight by fight basis of when the duck started cool fact remains he's been ducking for a year+ now.

And there reason had nothing to do with Haymon it was about money and Lara being a draw when nobody GGGs fought is a draw.

Look man this is pointless when GGG does something legitimately noteworthy I'll give him much credit. Until then he's just like every fighter before him finding excuses to fight journeymen.

Unfortunately, Golovkin wasn't the "Super" champ until 2013, when Geale dropped the belt. That gives GGG a total of 9 defenses and maybe 10 here soon.

If GGG can defend his title at his current pace, Hopkins' mark would be within reach in the next three or so years. Could he do it? Impossible to tell, but granted the age bug doesn't hit him too hard and middleweight is where he wishes to carve out a legacy, I think he could do it. That would make the naysayers pretty sour.

He's on a good roll, no doubt. He still pretty much fights like a "prime" fighter rather than an older one, at least as far as I can tell.

The WBA Regular and WBA Super belts apparently get rolled together in terms of how title defenses are recorded. For example, here is Fat Dan on the subject before the Golovkin-Monroe fight.

    http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/i...vkin-ready-make-14th-defense-willie-monroe-jr

It has been no different as GGG prepares to make the 14th defense of his 160-pound crown against slick southpaw -- but big underdog -- Willie Monroe Jr. on Saturday night (HBO, 10 ET/PT) in the main event at the Forum in Inglewood, California.

GGG never gave up the WBA belt, as far as I know. He just went from WBA Regular Champion to WBA Super Champion. I forget how that works, but apparently it had and has no bearing on his consecutive defenses of the WBA belt.

He's just below Arthur Abraham in terms of greatness.

Abraham was in the same level and doing the same thing, till he moved up and sought greatness.

So wherever you rank Arthur Abraham, I'd have GGG 3 or 5 slots below him.

I was just trying to educate you on the situation :conf

Criticism can actually be a good thing, in boxing or anything. As long as the criticism is valid anyhow, when its misplaced its meaningless.

When people have to tie themselves in knots, ignore context and any facts that aren't convenient to their stance, and have to appeal to ignorance its just no good. Valid criticisms of GGG exist but for some reason instead of valid criticisms, people on this forum tend to make things up and go off into fantasy land of unreality and come up with stuff like "GGG ducked Lara" which I honestly find puzzling.
