Valuev is way too slow to bother Ali. Wlad is a LOT faster than Valuev. It's a daft comparison to make.

Ali never fought a man as big, well conditioned and skilled as Wladimir. Wlad is typically in trouble when he doesn't pace himself (Puritty, Brewster) or when faced with guys who aren't afraid to mix it up with him and can throw fast, hard punches (Sanders).

Movers don't "give Wlad trouble". Which "mover" has beaten Wlad? He has typically won WIDE decisions over them. :yep

"Ali had great timing and he hit with great accuracy."

    1) Agreed. But Wladimir is an extremely composed fighter who does NOT "let it all hang out". As a result he is particularly hard to counterpunch. Let's not forget that he is also very accurate himself with good timing too. THIS is why I think Ali will have trouble. I believe that Wlad's power and reach will tell in his favour over the stretch resulting in a lot of cumulative damage. Ali himself was fond of clinching. Good luck trying to get a breather that way when Grabimir "Dr Octopus" Klinchko is resting his 250lb frame on your back.

    2) Sanders evolved as a fighter. He was always more of a boxer who tried to outbox his opponent at range. He had less KO's when doing this in his early career. As he got older his feet slowed down and he started concentrating more on his punching. He's always had great power, which is one of the reasons that he wasn't able to secure big matchups, while much lighter hitting Botha got the breaks. The difference between Sanders and Ali is that Sanders generates more natural power not necessarily dependent on timing, and that Sanders liked to brawl once he tagged his man. Corrie had no problems in taking a few to land a few, whereas Ali liked to outfox and outbox his opponents.

Why do dribbling imbeciles who have a single brain cell dwelling hermit-like in their echoing skull continually make me repeat myself? Is it because your attention span is measured in seconds? Or is it that your single brain cell goes to sleep and then can't remember what it had been working on before its nap?

    Remember this?

    Post 681:

So you ARE talking about the Son of Krypton.

That's cool, I am a fan too! Remember that time that he boxed Thor, throwing a thousand punches a second, and every time Thor tried to hit him back Ali was like "what's my name? what's my name?" Cool times, bro! Then he crushed a piece of coal in his hand and gave his GF a diamond!

You need me to highlight the relevant bit?

Tell me if you need the relevant bit highlighted.

All that fire and fury, and Cassius was unable to KO ol' Earnie. :-(

    Gennady Golovkin: 91% KO percentage
    Vitali Klitschko: 87% KO percentage
    Kovalev: 86% KO percentage
    Wladimir Klitschko: 79% KO percentage

What do these guys have to do to be more exciting? Rip their opponent's spines out and hold the dripping skull aloft?

But I guess they are not more exciting than:

    Muhammad Ali: 60% KO percentage

    :rofl:nut

The short bus will be along soon. Please take it and don't come back.

Thank you. It's guys that can't take an objective view of something that cause forums of all kinds to go down the drain. :nut

Look, sometimes the results ARE that clear cut. I mean, prime Tyson vs Steve Gee, say.

But most of the time boxers are closer in ability than people care to admit. :deal

Fair enough. I for one never claimed an easy victory for Ali. Search through the thread if you'd like verification on that.
Wlad can certainly pose him some interesting problems.

Unfortunately, idiots like termite (trolls with an agenda) irritate and annoy posters, aggravating and getting in the way of good debate.

The thing is most would not have a problem with someone picking Wlad over Ali,that's not outrageous at all, even though I think Ali would beat him comfortably.
It's the absurd and preposterous elevation of Wlad into some kind of super being with mythical attributes compared to Ali,who by the time this thread is finished will be a slow plodding journeyman who was never any good.
Wlad's faster, fitter, better mover, better ring i.q. blah, blah, blah admittedly most of it comes out of the mouth of one baffoon, but it must be said he has become a bit of an irritant on here....mind no more than!

see this is a reasonable post :good

no outrageous GROUPINGs of all newbies together blaming all of them for the garbage that mostly one of them says,,,,that would bother me if i was lumped into a group like that

Vlad has lots of holes in his game,,,i give him credit for picking himself off the canvas with Brewster and Sanders and becoming champ thereafter for the last decade or so :bbb I think he would give most champs a hell of a fight even if it was a boring awful fight, that's what vlad does to win so often :deal

Trust me sunshine if you and I walked into a room, I would be the only one walking out and it wouldn't bother me a fukk if it was surrounded by policemen, armed or otherwise.

As for my 4 year old grandson I would discourage him from picking on your 2 year old, but encourage him to smack you.:rofl
