Could Lewis beat Vitali without cuts?

More bad news though - my brother wlad got destroyed by that now retired shot2shyte failed contender from the lewis era Corrie Sanders , and Wlad, now terrified of sanders, has asked me to avenge his loss because he cant! . but I cant help him, what with my eye. Seems like the Klitschko era ends here in 2003, and we doomed to be unknown bit part minor titlists alongside herbie hide.

Anyway hope the court case goes well.

Actually the debate is whether Lewis would ever beat Vitali without the aid of cuts and the OP says Vitali would win 8 or 9 out of ten times.

Looking at the two men in that fight I see one ,the champion at 256lbs the heaviest of his career , a near 38 years old man who had been out of the ring for a year.
In the other corner I see a 33 years old prime challenger who had fought 10 rounds just 7 months earlier.

I saw the older man rocked in the early rounds but not knocked down ,despite being hit hit with several big right hands.
I saw that champion gradually claw his way back into the fight , and begin to land his own bombs, the fight eventually being stopped,none too soon when the challenger was badly cut both over and under the left eye.


Now let us suppose we have that near 38 years old Champion, 5 years younger, motivated and in optimum shape. Why would he not duplicate that feat?

Lewis has the advantage over Vitali in power, Vitali has the better chin , but Lewis has already taken Vitali's power when past his own prime and not in top condition.
Therefore why would Vitali fare any better versus a prime Lennox Lewis? The logical answer is he wouldn't.:-(

Although I think Lewis got back into the fight BECAUSE the cuts were affecting VK's vision. Yes, Lewis caused the cuts, hats off to him for hanging tough and fighting like a champ even though he looked to be unconditioned.

I agree, however, with the OP that this version of fat Lewis loses most of a series with that version of Vitali.

The OP was not specific about which Lewis he was talking about. To be honest, I can't be sure at all that the old version of Lewis actually loses to any version of Vitali.
Mr. Klitschko had his chance and did not pull it off. Cuts or no it was a virtually dead even fight, albeit Vitali was ahead on the cards.
Lewis made the mistake of thinking Vitali was as glass-jawed as his brother and nearly paid for it. In a series, he'd know better the next time. Too bad he didn't fancy it again though.
But we're starting to go round and round with this topic now.

I think everybody has laid forth their case, and in the main, when the trolls were not urinating all over the thread, it was quite interesting. I'm not naive enough to think that I am going to change the minds of anybody with a strong opinion on the matter, which on BF24 is ... everybody I bet that this has been done before, in some manner, a dozen times before.
