I wonder where nay sayer went. He tried to convince the public that GGG was not a consensus #1 fighter in the MW. Does he have enough alts to sway the poll in Cotto's favour?

I don't think there is even any debate. GGG by far. So let's get him in the ring with the other MW, so he can get that over with and go fight at 168 or 175 where there are fighters that can truly test how good he is.

Annoying wording in your poll, GGG is clearly the best fighter in the division but cotto is lineal champ so he is no.1.

yeah but he fought old injured Martinez at catchweight and not @160 Geale was drained too

Golovkin knocked him out quicker @160

BTW Murray is the best opponent in Golovkins resume

    Excuses.

Martinez never weighed the full 160 pound MW limit. His fight with Cotton was at 159 before he got embarrassingly knocked out by a former 140 pound champ. :-(

We've all seen what a 40 year old 156 pound Bernard Hopkins did to the midget DLH at their catchweight unification fight.

He knocked the midget out like he was supposed to.

Nah, Geale is the better, more accomplished fighter. Bumluvkin only has 2 former champs in his resume, and one of them isn't Murray.

Why would a lineal champ be a prerequisite for the #1 spot? Adonis is lineal but everyone knows that Sergei is THE man in the 175 lb division.

Well in terms of ranking the lineal champ has always been no.1 (even though we know they might not be the best fighter in the division)

Canelo is not a 160 pounder, he's never fought one, sure he fights mw catchweights, but he doesn't fight them against ranked MW. Cotto will be the 1st one and he's not really a true MW either. It's obvious GGG is the strongest in this very weak division.

I'm going with Cotto by default. The only guy at MW who took his title from a REAL CHAMPION, the only guy who has actually fought/beat an elite fighter, and even though he is small has the most skill in the division.
