Absolutely. Flash in the pants. I didn't stutter. And the history books prove my point so :rofl all you want.
Spinks beat Holmes (well past his prime mind you) 1 fight after after his last LHW title defense. So yes he was a LHW, like I said to someone else. I did'nt stutter when I said maybe Frank Bruno being the only one who would be top ten today. Get off Mike's nuts. He was exciting, yes. ATG... GTFOH
You're a goof, wtf is a flash in the pants?lol you can barely speak and you expect people to take your views on boxing and Mike Tyson seriously? Youngest Heavyweight champion, unified the belts in under 8 months then beat the guys they beat for the belts, put in 9 defenses of the belt,7th most all time, lineal champion, cleaned out the top 10 , rated p4p best fighter in the world, last heavyweight to do that, 2 time champion.... i can keep going.. Tyson is a all time great regardless of what you say idiot...now show me a top 10 and why Tyson wouldnt be in it?
Mike became the youngest heavychamp in 86 lost to Buster Douglas in 90. That's 4 years. A time in which he beat the like of Tyrell Biggs Tony Tucker Pinklon Thomas Larry Holmes Frank Bruno and Michael Spinks. And as I already mentioned, Holmes was old, Spinks was a LHW. Not really a who's who of great HW. I'm sorry if I'm shedding some light on your hero. Exciting fighter, yes. ATG status. Based on that, I don't think so. Oh, And I speak very well thank you. I have an excellent grasp of the English language. Notice how I said all of this and didn't call you any names. Not even once. You have your opinion, I have mine.
Agree with most of the thing, but cleaned out the top 10 .... That is a half true. If he was beat Douglas and then Holyfield then he cleaned the division ...
flash in the pan phrase of This content is protected This content is protected 1. a thing or person whose sudden but brief success is not repeated or repeatable. "our start to the season was just a flash in the pan"
With Tysons speed and right hand he would have been great in any era. Lewis only has 2 outstanding wins on his record, Holyfield and Vitali, other than that their records are very similar. Obviously Lewis avenged his losses and finished on top. But their resumes are similar.
Holyfield went on to lose to bums, and Vitali was beating the **** out of Lewis before being stopped on a cut, then Lewis pussied out of well deserved rematch so even those wins are pretty hollow for Lewis.
tko6 is not a bad win, dude, seeing as vitali became thenceupon part of the greatest title tag team in HW history.
What an ignorant post. Lewis twice beat the man who twice beat Tyson. Then he KO'd Tyson himself while being 1 year older. He demolished in 2 rds a man who had gone 24 rd with near-prime Tyson. At 37 years, he KO'd a future HW great in Vitali, 7 years younger than him. He beat Tua, Mercer, which Tyson never faced.
although to be fair, Tyson also did what NOONE else did, titlist at 20, and only just behind Patterson unifying the HW title so young. killing prime bests at age 20 is unprecedented.
Maybe you should have read my previous post before commenting. And secondly, Mercer was nothing special. Tyson beat Jesse Ferguson who beat Mercer. And ill stand by what i said, the gap between Tyson and Lewis resume isn't quite as big as people like to believe.
