Four years prior to their fight, Lewis was 14.5lbs lighter when he beat Holyfield for the universally recognized title. Lewis was in better shape than he was for Rahman 1 because he took Vitali early punches although his head spun a few times, the cut broke Vitali's momentum and increased Lennox adrenaline. Lewis was not a burnt fighter at 37 and Vitali was not yet at his best. I disagree that Lewis was not fit, after the Rahman KO loss he had better not make the same mistake taking anyone lightly.
