This top 20 ATG fighter gets flack for minor reasons, but in his prime against men his own size, he was SIMPLY unbeatable. Trinidad messed fighters up mentally and physically. He's the man who originally cobra'd people, Carl Froch is a pretender. He cobra'd(Tito'd) Whitaker, Camacho, Campas, DLH, Carr, Reid, Joppy, Mayorga and most of all, the fallen prince Vargas. These men were never the same after feeling Trinidad's chunky left hooks. and being Tito'd into oblivion.

Trinidad first got recognition when he beat up a fresh, rejuvenated Hector Camacho in his prime weight class after being weight drained at JWW. The same Camacho who went on a legendary run, defeating 2 ATG's in Roberto Duran and the only man to knock out Sugar Ray Leonard in a 2 year time span.

After this ATG win, he defended his strap a couple of times, knocking out world contenders while still relatively green, including titoing Chavez 2.0 Yuri Boy Campas and Oba Carr. Soon after, a super fight between him and a sobered up, unofficially undefeated Pernell Whitaker began being discussed. Trinidad became the only man to OFFICIALLY beat the ATG Pernell Whitaker, the best fighter of the 90's.

This stunning victory led to an eventual SUPER SUPER fight with a supremely PRIME, UNDEFEATED and CONFIDENT Oscar DLH, the p4p best boxer of the world at that time. A timid and nervous Trinidad had the Golden Boy running for his dear life. Trinidad specifically trained to have a fight with DLH, but Oscar had other plans. He ran a marathon as soon as he felt Trinidad's HARD left hook. Trinidad's bone crunching power had an adverse, psychological effect on DLH. He became depressed, started doing coke, and was never the same again. He eventually lost to a midget in Mosley soon after.

S****om was Trinidad's, this win catapulted him into greatness. IF he would of retired after that win, he would of been remembered like Salvador Sanchez, but Trinidad wanted more. He wanted to reach for the stars so he moved out of his prime weight class and decided to campaign at JMW. He Tito'd Reid and Maim until he met up with the young, brash, strong, and skilled Fernando Vargas fresh off of wins over Quartay and ATG JMW Winky Wright.

Trinidad beat him up badly. IT was almost too easy for him, he almost knocked him out in the first round, but wanted to put on a show for the fans, what a guy. After this win, you guessed it.. Trinidad wanted more. Yet again, Trinidad foolishly sought greatness. He moved up AGAIN and this time he knocked out long reigning WBA champion William Joppy, Titoing him in the process.

The destruction Trinidad dished out in boxing finally came to an end when he met up with a LHW masquerading as a MW in the ATG Hopkins. It took a LHW with dirty tactics to beat the much smaller, career WW Trinidad. With this loss, Trinidad retired and became a part time boxer, never being the same again.

In his final years of boxing, he stopped training and lost all of his desire and will for the sport. He managed to beat up and Tito the most dangerous boxer in the world at that time in Ricardo Mayorga, but he was never the same fighter again.

Truly a great boxer, in a great era. Respect to this ATG :yep

Excellent article you said it . He was a great great fighter was Felix "Tito" Trinidad. I miss him but was privileged to witness his career. What a fighter and what a man. He turned Oscar De La Hoya into the Golden Girl. He took on all comers. The greatest welterweights in history in no particular order are Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Benny Leonard, Thomas Hitman Hearns and Felix Tito Trinidad. He is stand up guy a great warrior with an unquencthable thirst for combat. I miss him.

Are you going off the edge? You trying real hard to big up Tito's resume and career. Lets start with Camacho who you claim beat Duran and Leonard. So "prime" and "past prime" no longer matters when Tito is being discussed? Was Ray Leonard not retired for 5 years before he made the poor decision to return to the ring and fight Camacho? And if you actually saw Camacho-Duran then you would know he didn't actually win the fight, the boy got a gift!!

And while people rant about Mayweather - Pacquiao not living up to the hype I point you no further than the previous superfight dud of De La Hoya - Trinidad where your boy Tito clearly loss, got outboxed easy, and got a gift decision in the mail!

So lets look at who he did beat...Mayorga, Joppy, Carr, Reid, Campas, Vargas.......ALL B Fighters!!!!

The only A level guy you can say he beat was an old past prime and drug addicted Pernell Whitaker! You say Trinidad is a Top 20 ATG, if that's the case then Floyd must be #1 All Time because his resume sh-ts all over Tito's.

And lets not even talk about what happened when Tito got in the ring with Nard and Winky, we will just leave that alone since we don't want to ruin your fantasy of Tito being an ATG top 20.

With that said, I like Tito and was a fan of Tito but really doe get your head out the clouds his resume and career is not that amazing

Trinidad whooped that boy bad, had the greatest WW since Ray Leonard running for dear life, Trinidad simply hit too HARD for any WW in history.

OSCAR felt Tito's chunky punches and it ruined him forever.

You seem upset, why is that? Trinidad is a manly man who defied odds, a true champion in the last golden age of boxing. It took a LHW mascarading as a ATG Mw to finally stop his reign of destruction.

Trinidad is so great that if he we're to beat Hopkins, he was willing to get in the ring with a PRIME Roy Jones Jr, the bar this great man set for himself was legendary.

He could of dominated 154 after getting schooled by Hopkins or even go back to his natural weight class, but he retired thinking he did enough for the sport and then went on to become a part time boxer.

    The rest is history.

They can't disagree. You simply cannot argue against it, Trinidad was truly a great with an underrated resume.

People simply judge him for getting beat up by an ATG MW who started his career as a LHW and his post retirement loss to ATG JMW Winky Wright.

I'm simply just here to educate the ignorant since most people dksab.

Tito was a beast. This is what would've happened to Melon Head Miguel's noggin if he shared a ring with a prime Tito.
