Who did Tito beat? On the contrary - who has FLOYD beaten at welter that makes you think he'd defeat Trinidad?

Floyd is old and faded and two fights ago was given Hell by a scrub in Maidana. If Maidana could find Floyd's chin, you bet your ass a young Trinidad would find him. And Floyd's NEVER been hit by a puncher like Tito.

I go with this. The fact that people are talking about a prime Tito versus a 2015 version of Mayweather speaks volumes about what they believe would happen if it was a younger model.

Maidana threw all those awkward punches from weird angles, especially that right hand.
    Tito was much more conventional.
Not saying I disagree overall, just saying.

Tito never even had a win as good as Floyd's last win in his entire career.

My sentiments exactly. Not a fan of Tito's at all but he was a huge welterweight. I see him turning up the heat and pressuring May throughout. May ducked Margarito and a prime Cotto. Trinidad was far more dangerous than both.

Ignorant statement. A peak Vargas was a better fighter than a washed up Pacquiao.

Funny how Manny was coming off a year where he beat a pfp fighter and 140 champion definitively. Vargas never had a year that good in his entire career.

Yeah, because beating Bradley and Algeri is more impressive than beating Quartey....

It's always apparent the posters who are new to the sport...

Quartey was coming off a long ass layoff and fighting at 154 for the first time. Beating Bradley was much better.

Certainly I think Tito beats the current version of Floyd, but I'm not sure prime for prime who would win. The biggest issue I have with Floyd is his lack of offense and unless you have extraordinary power, to win a fight you do have to land more punches than your opponent.

Quartey was accustomed to long layoffs. The Bazooka was a tough go and Vargas beat him more convincingly than Oscar did. Ike's only loss before that was the split nod to DeLaHoya. Excellent win for Vargas.

It was a good win, but not better than Bradley. It was the longest layoff of Quartey's career, fighting a guy much bigger than he was used to, and he still could've won if he didn't fight such a tactically dumb fight. It was 1 or 1-2 all night for him. He could've used Emmanuel Steward.

Bradley was pfp and already passed Ike's career accomplishments.

Hoya's chin is never brought up . That man had an iron chin.

Ttto would blow a hole right through every welter around today. Mayweather would have his toughest test against Tito. Hoya had great legs but still took damage. Trinidad had some great footwork.

How many times has Floyd Mayweather been outlanded in the last 13 years?

Tito wouldn't be able to land many clean punches against someone like Mayweather--he didn't have the footwork or the smarts.

Well you're obviously much more impressed with the quality of opponents than I am. I personally think Floyd, as good as he is, has been lucky as the era he's in, much like the K brothers.

I think in their primes Oscar, SMM, and Tito would likely beat him. Maybe not all of them would, but at least one of them would and possibly two. Floyd's a great fighter, but I just don't consider him to be a great 147 fighter and the idea that Floyd would beat a prime SRL or the Montreal Duran who fought SRL is pure fantasy.

That said, I do rate Floyd in an ATG sense higher than the first 3 mentioned. But I also think Holyfield's a better P4P fighter than Lewis, but Lewis is a better heavweight fighter than Holyfield. It's a similar comparison.
