This was truly their best fights at 140-147... These were the best of the best fighting each other...

Could Pac have closed the distance Iin this mythical time frame matchup?

To me this was the closest time frame we could have got a slug fest between the two... Both men still hungry enough to win BIG...

The fight plays out the same even those versions. Pacquioa's volume punching always lowered when facing a counter puncher. Floyd's timing and accuracy was always impeccable. Floyd's reach was always longer. Pacquiao always had that bad habit of jumping in and being off balance. Pacquiao never was any good at cutting off the ring. I told people this before they fought. No one listened. The fight would have played exactly the same. Now 2002 Floyd vs 2009 Manny would have been a different story. Floyd TKO's him aroung the 9 or 10th round.

I think Pac is becoming criminally underrated.. Iron jaw, lightning left hand, good head movement, fast legs, fast hands.... Amazing stamina, this was the guy before the Mosley leg cramps began... Embarrassed Clottey, won the war with Cotto, humbled Hatton, battered Oscar, outboxed Marquez in their second fight.. This was the total package.

Pac does not have an iron jaw, you don't get savagely KO'd and put to sleep for 5 mins if you have an iron jaw by someone who is featherfisted at the weight.

Agree with most of what you said though.

Strongly disagree, although I understand your view. His chin was cracked, he was in wars with much bigger meh. He could have stuck and moved against the bigger guys, he said he wanted to prove that he could take their punch.. He was in many wars in the 15 years leading into that fight... JMM HAD his number..

It was a well timed punched that had serious leverage behind it vs a fighting that was lunging forward. The result was inevitable. Does not mean Pac had a weak chin.

Just ask yourself, how many times has Pac been dropped in a 20 year career?

Manny was knocked out a total of 3 times throughout his career. Not the signs of an Iron Jaw. Not underrating Pac, I think you are underrating Mayweather. Yes Pac was faster back then, but so was Mayweather. Yes Pac hit hard back then, but punching power is one of the last things to go. He hits just as hard now. It's the technical skills of Mayweather that beat Manny as much as it was the physical skills. If you have 2 fighters pretty equal in speed, strength and everything else, then it is the technicals skills that will separate them, and Floyd has always, and will always be miles above him in that aspect.
