I am not saying that Bruno is a great fighter, but you don't have to be a great fighter to beat the limited Ruiz, particularly if the rules are enforced against his illegal holding tactics, and refs don't buy his low blow fake jobs.

The deciding factor here is not how talented Bruno was, but how utterly talent-less Ruiz was.

Bruno had one of the all time great heavyweight jabs, and could crack. I'm pretty sure if David Haye could handle Ruiz as easy as he did then Bruno could do the same.

While I think Bruno was better than Haye, they are quite different fighters and Haye's style is more problematic for Ruiz than Bruno's.

Haye had the speed, movement and elusiveness to beat Ruiz to the punch and not be there to be clinched. Bruno couldn't do this he was slower, less mobile, easier to hit. He doesn't get off quick enough to negate Ruiz's dirty excessive clinching style.

Now in a fair fight Bruno has a chance as Ruiz is a sitting duck once he gets his shots off first and that's why he needs to clinch as he doesn't have the skill to avoid counters. But this wouldn't be a fair fight. Ruiz had King as his promoter and it's likely King being the big promoter of the time has his ref picked out and as with most of Ruiz's career he is allowed to clinch excessively and frustrate Bruno to win on points.

You mean Ruiz's last fight where he came out of retirement? What kind of comparison is that?

People picking Ruiz showing how little they know about boxing. No way in hell does Ruiz outjab Bruno, he'd get stood on his head. And that's all Ruiz has.

Ruiz was a greater champion because he had better championship carriage. His strengths were of the fifth essence.

He inexplicably wrestled the **** out of Rahman and Kirk Johnson, two men with above average jabs, and squeaked by Golota.

It must be a bitter/sweet mix of puzzlement/satisfaction to be able to see the world as it truly is, when others must gaze through the mists.

To be honest this would be a very interesting fight. If Ruiz is still there after 7 rounds i think he would take it

Bruno by mid to late rounds ko. Ruiz is at a big disadvantage is power and strength. He had some speed and could move a bit. He was also good at holding. He'd use these attributes to build a lead, hoping to get into the later rounds, when Bruno usually gassed. Bruno would stalk him ponderously. At some point Ruiz would stand still and get caught and hurt. Ruiz didn't have the chin nor recuperative powers to withstand the follow up by Bruno.
