people take ward seriously because went through an excellent tournament with good fighters and won it...and took a risk by entering it..... you guys feel so ashamed of gggs resume and career that you have to put down other fighters to try and make it look good and cover it up...its sad
Ward won the tournament not far from Wlad-Haye. Since then, Wlad's defended his title 8 times, including going to Russia to take out his #1 contender, knocking out another top contender, and traveling to the U.S. to defeat another young undefeated contender. Another unbeaten, prime contender is on tap. That is a reign worth taking seriously. Andre has fought 3 times in the nearly years since then and has nothing on the horizon. That is a man resting on his laurels. Why should fans take his career any more seriously than he is? Ward is a great talent - the last U.S. gold medalist- who is wasting his prime and getting lapped in popularity by a newcomer from a country whose name most people here can't spell, just because the new guy actually wants to work at making fans. Ward had the boxing world in the palm of his hands after Froch and Dawson. It's not GGG's fault he gave that up.
Wasn't he going to move up early next year? Not that I have a problem with it but that's what everyone kept saying to me.
'Let's start with Ward's next fight. The June 2 date in Oakland should work, but it won't be against Bute, who faces Carl Froch on May 26. Nor will it be against Anthony Dirrell, it would seem. Dirrell, the brother of the more famous Andre Dirrell, is Ward's WBC mandatory. But Ward says he's not interested in that fight and would just vacate his belt, even though he called it "a good matchup." He claims that the TV networks won't be interested, which seems bizarre given that Showtime televised Dirrell's eliminator win over Renan St-Juste in December.' "That's a good matchup," Ward told SI's Chris Mannix when asked about facing Dirrell. "But to be perfectly honest with you I don't have a lot of interest. I consider Anthony a good fighter, a brother. But the networks won't be interested." Dirrell seemed keen to face his ''brother'' Ward though. 'Listening in the audience, however, was a fighter who feels as if he has earned his right to be considered for the Andre Ward sweepstakes, that being unbeaten Anthony Dirrell (24-0, 21 KOs). The 27-year-old Dirrell is coming off a fourth-round stoppage of Canadian southpaw Renan St. Juste (23-3-1, 15 KOs) in a WBC elminator bout that made him that organizations No. 1 contender to face Ward. As tempted as he was to bring it up during the press conference, Dirrell simply congratulated Ward on a job well done, and kept the notion of a title fight opportunity to himself for that time. This is Andre Wards time, and I dont want to take anything away from him. But when the time comes, then it comes. Im his WBC mandatory, and we want our shot at the world title, Dirrell told RingTV.com. Im the mandatory for the WBC, and I want my shot. Its as simple as that. If Andres got it, then I want my shot. He needs to either give me my shot or vacate it, because I want it. Ward, for his part, did not discount Dirrells position in the mix. I know that Anthony is the mandatory, and we just have to sit down and see. You know, Ive been there. When I beat Edison Miranda, I think that I was the No. 1 for Carl Frochs belt. And then something happened and they switched it, said Ward, who earned $900,000 against Frochs $600,000. Anthony Dirrell is hungry, and I understand that, but weve got to see what makes sense. Weve won the belt, and we just have to see. Thats nothing personal to him. I respect him and I respect him, but we just have to see. Thats obviously a potential matchup.
I'd totally Photoshop his face on Ash from Pokemon's body, if that didn't require downloading a copy of Photoshop (along with a key-crack)
Seems like Anthony Dirrell is finally showing more ***** than his brother Andre did. He seems to disregard the my "brother" line.
I thought Ward fans were the ones making topics about GGG . Like I said before all I see are GGG fans criticizing Ward, or GGG fans making praise threads for him. Sad thing is GGG fans have the nerve to say why didnt ward fight this guy, when GGG has fought absolutely no one, and Ward has fought elite opposition .
Last time I looked GGG has a PPV date. Ward has a possible undercard date with a TBA. I'm not a GGG fan boy just stating the what I see.
Sure, you found one and this is hardly even hate inspired thread I mean "ducks Anthony Dirrell"... You don't really take that seriously do you? Either way, my post had nothing to do with that and I'd rather not continue this argument with you.
