floyd will always be in defensive mode when threatened. he doesn't want to get hurt so he mastered heis defensive play. one thing that is not certain is pac's higher offensive output during that time. the ref's also plays a big part in floyd's fights especially if it is held in vegas.

Really, you're done. How about the crude Maidana landing big shots, maybe Hatton,Castillo, even Hoya having him like a sitting duck on the ropes.. Get of your high horse

What happened is that they traded bombs. Mainly because of Jmm desire to stand in range and take one to give one. FLOYD doesn't share that philosophy. Also in that time frame was their second fight, Manny clearest victory..

That's exactly how I see it. Those bursts come much more frequently, and last longer. How wouldn't they, would the shoulder roll fend that off.. He showed in glimpses of what he was capable of, but just didn't, or no longer could sustain it.

Style wise, Floyd is a nightmare for Pacquiao so the result would always be the same.

When will people like you realize that Judah was a harder match up for Floyd than #48 was? Judah was more of a natural counter puncher who could actually beat Floyd to the punch something #48 couldn't. Judah also had a good jab could counter Floyd and picked his shots better. Floyd's win over Judah is actually underrated because he was a bad match up for Floyd.

Mayweather did not respect judahs power thats why he walked judah down and put a beating on him

For the Pac fight Mayweather had to be careful with the power no way he could walk him down like he did judah.

He walked zab down because zab doesn't deal well with pressure you don't really want to stand in the middle of the ring and box with zab. So walking him down was an effective strategy.

Agreed floyd always uses the best strategies for each opponent

If he fought Pac the same way he fought judah he would of got into trouble floyd had to be very careful against Pac and use distance and to box him which he did.

Fight would have been brutal, the fight of the century fo sure. poochioa vs void.:rofl Nah, both these guys styles don't mesh. One guy likes to run and hug all day. The other is sloppy and is not as busy as before.

2008 Manny Pacquiao and 2011 Manny Pacquiao struggles to get a SD and MD over Juan Manuel Marquez but we're supposed to believe that 2009 and 2010 Manny Pacquiao is somehow different? The PacIdiots really need to get a clue...

Elaborate on how the referee has rigged the fights in Mayweather's favour apart from the atrocious displays by Cortez in Hatton and the Ortiz farce, though that was Victor's fault for not keeping his hands up after headbutting Floyd several times and Floyd being renowned to punch guy's in the mouth when time is in and they want to talk ie Gatti and Mosley.

You're allowed to tie up, it's as much a part of boxing as a check hook... he didn't do it excessively against Pacquiao and Maidana, he did it strategically, not exactly Wlad Knotschko is it. It's a fair tactic. You can say he uses his elbows illegally more than the clinch.

is that all you guys have to hang on to now? since current Pac didn't come close to getting the job done, you guys are stuck on 2009 Pac?

No version of Pac beats any version of Floyd. Floyd's always been a stylistic nightmare for Pac.

Floyd back then fought harder and was prime, as was Pac. Pac had a good chance at KOing Floyd but I will go with what I said back then at the time, that Floyd was just too good for him and would have been a less competitive fight than the one we did get to see. BUT that said, Floyd was scared ****less of that Pac and no way in the world would go near him then. Its on youtube even, Floyd saying he prefers his health over facing that Pac.

You have a good point indicating that Marquez is kryptonite for Pacquiao but also don't seem to grasp Pacquiao is kryptonite for Marquez, who also struggled to beat him... so it's not far fetched to assume Pacquiao can trouble Mayweather if he fought him 4 times with a cogent strategy that doesn't focus on trying to counter the counter-puncher and avoid taking right hands because he had nightmares of KO6.
