GGG is fighting the second best middleweight and IBF champion. The other two champions are ducking him. Who did Ward fight in the last 4 years ? Gennady's team said that he would fight ANYONE betwen 154 and 168 A FEW YEARS AGO when he wasn't so popular. In the last couple years they were saying that he would go up or down FOR A GOOD MONEY FIGHT. Then it became only for PPV. Now, when he is headlining PPV himself, he would go down only for Mayweather. He DOESN'T NEED to leave MW now. When he unifies the division, if Ward is still relevant and can make 168, Gennady will kick his azz.
So when they were talking about fighting Chavez at 168 was this before Chavez fought Reyes? And what was Froch doing when this chatter was happening? I'm sorry I cant recall exact dates.
Please explain then why they wanted Ward at 164 but Froch and Chavez Jr at 168 if he was solo willing to gpface anyone from 154 - 168?
You may think you are a brilliant poster asking that question for the first time, but I assure you it is not an original point. Do a forum search FFS and/or get some new material. How many times can the same sentence be typed in the course of a year on this forum?
You know..... You talk about titlists like Lemiuex, Geale, Murray(2X), and down-rate their achievements while holding up guys like Kesslers, Forchs and Abes just to bolster your heroine's resume. Froch and Kessler were BOTH called Euro level when they were beating the likes of Pascal and Andrade. Yet, when Ward beat them by any means necessary, they were suddenly elevated to elite status to suit pro-American fans. Not saying they werent elite, but fact is that they beat weaker titlists/contenders to win their own, just as Geale, MurrayX2, and Lemiuex did. Now, GGG has wins over several former/current/would be world titlists, and is looking for another this fall. I don't hate Ward. Im dissatisfied with how the Bute S5 ordeal turned out with Goosen boycotting Bute's eligibility, but thats in the past, and Bute got blitzkreiged and ruined since. But still, Ward ran thru a guantlet of tough challenges and found a way to win em. On every "is Ward HOF" thread, I vote yes, b/c of what he did in that tournament. I don't berate his accomplishments and put down Froch and Kessler and Abe just to try to put down Ward. But that is EXACTLY what Ward fans do to GGGs resume as if the fighters he beat are a slew of never were's. In fact, he has wins over several top 10 MWs, and the list just keeps gorwing, whereas Ward seems to be rebuilding over and over from a list of rejects. I wish Ward the best in his decision making, but his fans/aka/GGG haterz, need something to fixate on, and since Ward aint giving them anything, they need to go to GGG.:---(
what arer you talking about, wlad has faced a series of bums apart from 1 or 2 guys. only one of them had won a title. ward were all ex champs or won them next apart from 1 or 2.....ward is the polar opposite of bum killer wlad. how deluded are you?
He dropped the belt because WBC wanted to make him champion emeritus or some shyte like that while Dirrell and Bika fought for the real belt. Ward was injured that at the time and was not gonna have it so he dropped the belt. Don't let the fact get in the way, Focking moron. I really kinda doubt that. Ward fears neither Dirrell brother. He would've schooled Andre in the S6 and would school Anthony now.
Yes they made him champ in recess for a long time, he could have fought for the belt again and he didn't. Ward is a dummy :hi:
The way he walked away from WBC belt puzzles me, Anthony was a mando and Ward walks away. He would have beaten him though, you're right on that.
Ellerbe who do you expect Golovkin to fight on PPV then? Lemeiux is a good opponent, not elite but a good one all things considered. How is 600-800k for Chavez not equating to a draw? That's ridiculously high numbers for a guy who isn't elite himself.
