I've been thinking about this, and it seems like it's a possibility that has been dismissed because Froch is somewhat of a puncher.

If Groves gets KO'd against Jack, does that mean he has a Glass Jaw?

    Thoughts?

He has solid whiskers , just not the best defence.

You cannot get hit like he did against Froch.

I think some people get a bit too excited about all this glass jaw nonsense!

Someone like me who is just joe public and never put on a pair of gloves let alone get in the ring will more than likely be glass jawed.

A pro boxer who fights for living, you know they get punched in the face as a job, sparring, fighting and all that would say nope they are not glass jawed.

Gettiing KTFO is what you would call an occupational hazard for a boxer.

Why is that such a hard concept to understand?

A glass jaw is surely someone who goes down with the slightest touch on the whiskers. That's not Groves or any other pro boxer.

The most overused term on the general forum.

Glass Jaw nonsense? Glass Jaws exist in boxing, it's a fact. Punch resistance is one of, if not the most important attribute for a boxer to have to be successful.

Discussing punch resistance is one of the topics that's covered regularly on this forum, maybe you have come to the wrong place?

Glass Jaws exist in boxing, and we WILL talk about them on ESB.

Being KO'd by Froch isn't evidence of a glass jaw. He's looked a bit shaky elsewhere but nothing to suggest it's anywhere near glass at all. Fairly standard I'd say

I'm saying that if he get's KO'd by Jack, can we then say that he has a Glass Jaw?

No they don't you muppet, glass jaws get exposed in the AMS and when some pretenders are young teens causing them to chuck it in.

The guys who make a career out of fighting are not glass jawed. Simple logic mate. :hi:

Are you seriously suggesting that not one professional boxer is glass jawed?

Everyone is different, strength, speed, stamina & punch resistance. Of course you'll get pro boxers that are hiding china in their mandible.

As for Groves, whilst he isn't glass jawed, he certainly isn't strong in the department. We've seen him rocked against the likes of Kenny Anderson.
