there is talk Cyclone are eyeing up a venue in Belfast for Dec- but I don't know if its for a small show or a Frampton gig.. he says he would like Cruz in March and to squeeze in a defence before hand
They tweeted today to say that they'd be releasing the card this week. But it seems safe to assume that it will include: Jamie Kavanagh headliner (10 rounder) Sweeney-Tims (10 rounder) McDonagh-Byrne (10 rounder) Deco Geraghty (8 rounder) Sean Turner (6 rounder) David Maguire (4 rounder) Ciaran McVarnock (4 rounder) Ciaran Mullen (4 rounder) And sure that's the card basically full already
Ormond could be on once comes through his fight in America in October 👍 reckon they will have a ****** fighter on aswel keep them happy similar to when they had Langford last show 👍,
Whats the story with Jono Carroll I thought he would of been on 1 of the Matchroom shows that has been announced. Him v Geraghty would be a great fight to have again. Think this time around Geraghty will win the fight.
Bad cut on his eye in his last fight so only back sparring this week hopefully out on same card together soon enough think that's the plan 👍
as matt said luke id like to hear your opinion on a lot of irish boxers around your weight that you might have come into contact with and your opinion on them adam Nolan,Steven Donnelly,Joe ward, Jason Quigley, Conrad Cummings,Michael O'Reilly etc if you have seen them
no but seen Ormond spar him when he was welter couple years back great talent really special hopefully he can qualify for olympics.
Yeah....didnt he say something about fighting in Belfast again before the years end an interview after the Texas fight? Plus I thought he has a mandatory defence coming up, against an 'oriental' guy - sorry afraid I cant bring a name to mind right now..... We'd want to be hearing something soon...:huh
Eamer Coughlan, Paddy Donovan and Paul Ryan guaranteed Ireland at least three bronze medals on a day to remember for Irish southpaws at the AIBA World Junior Championships in Russia today. The Munster and Leinster boys all won their quarter-finals to book tickets into Friday’s semi-finals in St Petersburg. The Cork, Limerick and Dublin trio are all southpaws. But Sean Purcell and Tommy Hyde bowed out despite big performances at the last-eight stage today. Coughlan, who has now forced his last two opponents into five standing counts between them, stopped Pasquale Di Sivo in the third round. Eamer Coughlan (red) in action today Eamer Coughlan (red) in action today The Italian took two standing counts in the second and a third in the final frame as the Riverstown BC man unleashed his entire ****nal. Donovan and Ryan showed their ring craft and class to see off the challenges of Marrambek Kaikuev and Milan Prat in two top class displays versus talented opposition. Purcell was beaten by Taras Bondarchuk of the Ukraine and Hyde lost to Turkey’s Bayren Malkan. However, both boxers can be proud of their performances in St Petersburg – and both are now ranked in the top eight in their world in their respective age and weight classes. “We’re delighted to have three into the semi-finals and to have three medals. Obviously, we would have liked to have five, but all the boys gave it absolutely everything,” said coach Fergal Redmond. It was an extremely busy day for the Irish coaching staff of Billy McClean, McKenna and Dmitry Dmitruk and Irish team manager Paddy Osboure, as Donovan, Hyde and Ryan were in action virtually back-to-back in Rings A and B this afternoon. Thursday is a rest day at the tournament. The semi-finals and finals will be held on Friday and Saturday. COUGHLAN won by stoppage again, didn't see the fight but he must be a bit of a little fire *******. Faces an Uzbek in the semis hope he keeps winning Purcell lost to a Ukrainian didn't see the fight but no shame in losing to a Ukrainian Paddy Donovan boxed the ears off his Kyrgyzstan opponent today. He looked exceptional I was hugely impressed. Boxes an American in the semi, should be a great fight, think everyone should watch him Didn't see paul Ryan but his through to the semi beat a French guy and will meet an Uzbek fighter too Tommy Hyde lost to a Turkish opponent. Hyde just started slowly and the turk was like a bull. he rushed in while hyde was being to ponderous and got his shots off and roughed him up. Thr turk took the first round cleanly, he took the second round but it was closer and hyde finally got control in the 3rd but it was too late. Hyde showed flashed of brilliance eg some smart footwork and shot selction but he just wasn't able to deal with an opponent who looked bigger and more aggressive. Id keep an eye on him his certainly got talent and his gary hyde as his father he wont be short of advice and good training
Havent seen Coughlan fight yet but he has stopped the last 2 he has faced very impressive, and also Paul Ryan is a classy counter puncher, could be the breakthrough world class Dublin amatuer we have been waiting for since Kenny Egan and Darren Sutherland. Donovan looks the business tomorrow hopefully they can win but they will be in some really tough fights.
