    So you big Hopkins up because Joe beat him? How old are you?

    Hopkins was a great victory but why include Jones in your nursery rhyme? Kessler or Lacy were much better victories.

    I big Hopkins up because he was a great fighter. Calzaghe just proved to be far better.

    Despite Joe being shot and at the end of his career, he also proved to be better than Jones. And remains the only boxing ever to give him a total one sided boxing lesson. Plus people (mainly Yanks) are a lot more butthurt about the Jones clinic than the other two.

    He had a close fight with him so I think far better is an exaggeration.

    Beating a shot opponent proves nothing about whether someone is better or not.

    So you post your rhyme because you believe some posters are "butthurt" what kinda phrase is that anyway?

    Well Calzaghe moved up in weight, travelled to Hopkins back garden and despite the corrupt ref and 'Zaggers having shot hands, he still had Hopkins trying to quit and dominated the second half of the fight.

    But Calzaghe was shot himself- so yes, it does prove something. The exact same thing when 'Zaggers closer to his prime happens 5 years earlier. :nod

    That proves he edged that fight, I certainly wouldn't say it proves he was far better.

    As for the shot comment. Shot Hopkins schooled shot Jones but we all know Jones schooled him in their prime.

    I like Calzaghe, as far as English born boxers go, he's one of the best ever, I don't think he proved that prime for prime he was better than Jones though. Still I respect a man who cleans out his division and Joe sure did that. Shame he didn't get the unification earlier against Ottke and Beyer.

    :lol:More lies. Tarver HAMMERED a better version of Jones (AND completely outboxed him YEARS BEFORE) than Joe did, a fact that you are completely butthurt about. And the fact that B minus to C featherfisted Glen Johnson HAMMERED a better version of Jones than Calzaghe decisioned must send you into an absolute tailspin. And as I wrote before, Hopkins is overrated, specifically at light heavy because he beat NOBODY special there. Hopkins greatness is due to his longevity, not the quality of his victims. If he fought in the Saad, Spinks, Qawi, Galindez, Conteh, Mustafa Muhammed era, he probably would not have come close to cracking the top 5.:yep

    :lol:More lies. Calzaghe may have been past his best, but in the lead up to the Hopkins fight, he was throwing 1000 punches a round during training. A shot fighter does not do that, especially at 175. Another question for you: how does a shot fighter throw 1000 punches a round during training? I wont be expecting an answer:lol:
