Not really, everyone expects the win. It's always useful to fight another big guy on the way up the rankings.

Does this mean that guys who are slating fights like this are admitting they see him a tremendous prospect who should be in with guys in the top 10 in every fight? Thats a helluva compliment if you ask me !

boxrec is an amazing tool that boxing is lucky to have, but take their 'ratings' with a pinch of salt.

Cornish has met very limited opposition so far, and on paper stands zero chance.

But fights are not won on paper, and when two big men who have yet to taste defeat in over thirty bouts between them fight, the fight is clearly not going to be 100/0 in favour of one fighter.

But still it is going to be as one sided as a fight in this scenario could reasonable be. I would be surprised if they fought this out a hundred times, if Cornish won more than three times.

I think Joshua will win inside three rounds.

Looking at the fighters who Joshua has fought so far there is absolutely no problem with him fighting Cornish. He is stepping it up nicely with each fight. Johnson, Cornish and then white etc.
I have no idea what everyone is complaining about . Everyone has mismatches on the way up the ranks learning the pro game. People can't expect Joshua to jump from a no hoper to a tony Thompson. That would be suicide. Look at David price. To much of a jump on clas . It needs to be done gradually. Joshua is going at the perfect pace. Haters always gonna hate though

I do not think even Joshua's harshest critics have a problem with Cornish and then his next scheduled fight. It seems like fair matchmaking for both the fighter and the public.

I see Joshi as one of the 2 biggest prospects in the division. And I also see Cormish for what he is, a big record padder who isn't anyway near the level his record seems to suggest.
Even Wilder's resume at 21 fights was a lot better as him and he actually knocked them all out. While Gary went the distance with a couple of regular KO1 victims.

It's a bad fight, disguised as a test for Joshua. KO1 is my prediction.

No one has a problem with his recent matchmaking.

It's the ridiculous hype after every fight he has had previously against lorry drivers and kebab men, where his fanboys and hearn proclaim he's ready to beat the top hw's of the division.

But they are just on the wind up, they are not giving a serious critique. They are not the fancy.

But he has beaten the yardsticks that show he is a legitimate prospect. And he has done so with ease and minimal time in the ring.

I would say he is now a top 20 fighter, and thus there is going to be a time in the near future when he is going to fight a top heavyweight, and he will almost certainly start as the betting favourite, and thus he would be as ready as he can be.

As for Matchroom; it is a promoters job to promote and hype their fighters. As a fan you can take it or leave it, but should be aware of that.

As for 'ridiculous hype': He is a young, big hitting, unbeaten Heavyweight, who is also an Olympic Champion. There are almost no more ingredients you could add as a promoter; I am amazed Hearn has not dug up ;) James Brown to write and perform a British spin on Apollo's entry in Rocky IV for a Joshua walk in, the situation is the 'perfect storm' boxing hype.
