You guys think this was 'leaked' by coincidence just before the Berto fight? Floyd know exactly what he's doing and it plays out right as he wants it to.

It's a pr disaster then, if that's the case then he had all this stuff planned to say where he was actually within the rules to do what he did. But now everyone is questioning whether it's either for severe dehydration (meaning he lies about his fight night weight) or whether it's for masking PEDs. If it is all marketing as you say then it's backfired completely because people are going beyond looking at whether it was within the rules and are now looking at the possible reasons for him to have done it in the first place.

this is pathetic, this will tarnish his career so much and would be the worst PR move in all of history if it was intentional. Regardless he still broke the rules either way, there's no denying that.

A part of me thinks it could be a PR job. While this pretty much taints his career, for much of his career he openly said he didn't care about legacy only money, it's only recently that he's talked about creating a great legacy. Could he happily wreck his legacy just so he can make a few million more? Maybe I wouldn't put it beyond him to have leaked it on purpose, but it doesn't make what happened any less true.

I think as well that Mayweather is behind this controversy being spilled.

Who and why did this come to light now?

If Mayweather was under the influence of PED's, USADA still has the blood and urine samples, they can order a CIR test tomorrow and find out the levels.
If Mayweather is guilty, it can still be proven.

Anyone who thinks this is part of some marketing strategy doesn't know Thomas Hauser. This guy aint no Dan Rafael. He's as serious as it gets where boxing journalists are concerned. He actually has integrity.

Floyd has EVERYONE talking about him. Right before another PPV. And you guys saying this is bad PR. You think its "good PR" when floyd is burning $100 bills on TV? Or rolls to his gym in a $4 million car?

Floyd understands the basic rule of marketing. There is NO BAD PR! Either people talk about you or they don't.

if anyone on this forum think this is some pr stunt........I suggest you go and have a rethink
this aint no marketing strategy to sell a fight, the only thing its done is tarnish the fight, not sell it or make it bigger.

That's just a saying applying to certain situations, not a law by any stretch of the imagination. There are numerous examples of PR disasters, the Tiger Woods Scandal or Armstrong (Would have been way worse had it happened during his prime). There's always a line you can't cross in terms of bad PR backfiring, being heavily implicated in a PED scandal crosses that line by a great margin.

If this is a market ploy it can only work to dupe the public into buying a rematch of pac-mayweather, effectivly killing Mayweather's markability as a standalone fighter only to increase Pacquiao's popularity and making Floyd the ultimate villain for Pacquiao to defeat in the eyes of the public.

You are delusional, you shouldn't be allowed behind the wheel of a car in your mental state.

floyd was getting desperate. he thought manny could promote a rematch but manny couldnt sell Scarlett Johannson to a virgin on death row.

Once again the superior fighter and promoter has to make **** happen
