Only part that's true is that he fought better fighters, losing to the best ones.

As would Floyd if he fought SRL or Hearns.

Prove it. Leonard would be close to even money and Davey wouldn't even touch Floyd.

If you think Floyd would be close to even money against SRL l can only assume you're broke. And why out of the blue are you bring Moore into the picture?

    Because Moore kicked Benitez's ass.

Floyd would be no worse than 2:1 against Leonard.

    Tough fight tbh.

Could easily go either way to either man.

My instinct is to favour Floyd to find a way of making Benitez come to him and squeeze out a points victory.

Benitez has better victories, that's indisputable, Floyd has managed to carve out a career that makes it difficult to imagine him being outboxed and I guess I'm falling for the smoke and mirrors as well.

I wouldn't put much stock in that Moore loss

No way prime Benitez loses to prime Moore.

It wasn't even a convincing win for Moore. Benitez broke his angle, lay on the ropes, unable to move, and Moore missed 95 percent of his punches trying to stop Benitez. It was only stopped because of the ankle break.

I am always amazed how people on here do not put certain fights in context and totally disregard the big picture.

Yeah, that win was pretty flukish. But I'm still baffled by the people who think that Benitez was clearly more skilled or better than Mayweather.

I suspect many of them have an agenda and Boxrec is their bible.

Benitez was certainly on Floyd's level. What's more baffling is that this is in dispute.

Care to elaborate? What's baffling is that so many people seem to share your position but are utterly unable to offer any convincing explanations. The pro-Benitez camp basically just consists of bald assertions ("of course he was way better!!") or unpersuasive circular reasoning ("he must be better than Floyd because he survived against ATG opponents"). Sad. This and the other strange stuff people type about Mayweather here makes me wonder whether the folks typing about him actually watch his fights.

Flip it around. We're all boxing fans here and l certainly can't think of a Floyd fight l haven't watched. But have you watched Benitez Hope? Benitez Hearns? Benitez SRL? (Benitez only trained for a couple of weeks for that fight) or Benitez Palomino? You're essentially asking people to do your homework and seem annoyed that it's not happening. Watch Benitez Palomino then we can discuss the topic intelligently.

Bottom line if you want to know about Benitez watch his fights cause unless you do whatever l or others say is going to fall on deaf ears.Maybe then you'll realize this isn't some mass conspiracy against Floyd. You might accidently learn a bit about Palomino while you're at it.

What the hell is so great about floyd beating a bunch of cherry picked faded fighters while having every advantage including his illegal steroids swepped under the rug by his paid off pet usada and his illegal hand injections. Take away his ridiculous home court advantage and his peds and mayweather wouldnt even have the ***** to step into the ring against benitez much less hearns, leonard, or duran. It took him years to fight anyone with a pulse and he only agreed when he had seen them lose more than once and knew they were damaged goods. Would Floyd have ever had the ***** to face someone as feared as cervantes? Some as talented, fast, skilled, and hard hitting as an undefeated leonard? Someone as fast, skilled, tall, and dynamite punching as hearns? As ferocious as duran? **** no he wouldnt. Thats why its easy to look at floyd and think hes better because the bar is much lower for him and most fans today dont even realize because most fans who actually know what they are looking at when watching boxing have become disgusted and left the sport. Now its left to be judged by morons who would rather watch some flashy loudmouthed hoodrat beat on a no hoper and throw his "dollahs" around than actually watch a competetive sporting event. Might as well call it the Roy Jonesification of the sport.

This would be a chess match similar to Benitez-Leonard without the KD's and could go either way

BTW I've always said this would be a competitive fight if there's much of a difference it's that Benitez had more pop in his punches.
