what odds would I get for groves to lose to jack and then big nose to come out of retirement to fight and beat jack just to rub groves nose in it a little bit more?

I think it has been his plan all along?

10/3 for George Groves within rounds 7-12. Decent odds I reckon.

Had Groves to win rounds 5 or 6 gets me £280.

Also had £20 on Groves to win rounds 1-12 just in case Groves win rounds 4 or 7 lol

Hi besty1985, what do you mean by betting fund?
The tone of your article makes me think this is the amount of money you would normally put aside to your saving account.
So is the 3% out of this betting fund calculated on the monthly or yearly betting fund?
You'd need 33 bets to cover all your betting fund, so I wonder about the frequency of your wagering.

what do you think about Charlie Edwards - Louis Norman bout? Im surprised that there is even 1,36 odds available for Edwards. I see him as a BIG favourite!

Hi Giggigreto - I have been gambling on boxing for the last 3-4 years. I gamble practically every weekend, making anything between 1 and 5 bets a week. I keep my gambling fund separate from everything else and I have grown it significantly over the last few years. The 3% is based on where my fund is at any given point (I keep long winded spreadsheets). So the more I make the bigger my stake will be. I started with £1k and I have also added to it periodically with a small percentage of my wages. You're right to say it does represent some of my savings.

The secret has been limiting my downside because I get far more right than I get wrong. So if I only risk 3% of the money I have set aside to gamble then I never have a disastrous week. Really it should be more like 1% but I am fairly confident in my ability to pick winners.

The way I see it, if I can make more than a 10% return a year then I'm probably better off than if I had my money in a mutual fund or an index-linked fund. I'm an economics graduate but I know a hell of a lot more about boxing than I do about the intricate workings of individual companies!

This is just a simple technique employed by technical ****ysts. It's not to everyone's taste - some people like to just have a little flutter on the weekend to make things interesting - more power to them. But the bookies make a killing on guys that put on unachievable accumulators every weekend, all you need is a little patience and there's no need to take big risks.

Hey besty, it is a good idea to plan how much to allocate to boxing bets beforehand, like you do.

I am relatively new to boxing betting ( 5 months roughly), and I use to play big accumulators myself .
As of right now I have won roughly 1 out of 7 of them, but I have won more than I have lost (3.4% gain). I got 5 accumulators that will end up with alvarez cotto in november, and they can potentially net me a 67 % return overall :D.
Sadly, stuff like the Ryan vs Hibbert debacle this night happens, although sporadically, and that's how you get to lose most accumulators as a knowledgeable boxing fan :(.

What I do is I place my 10 big 10-bouts accumulators, then I select a couple of risky bouts out of the 10, and I wage counter bets on them (same accumulator, but reversing the pick for these risky fights) for less money. These smaller accumulators I use to recoup from what I spent initially on the stake for the big accumulator.

I guess picking bout by bout makes sense too, problem is I bet online and they are not quick enough to settle my bets in time to wage the winnings on the next bout.

Do you play online? Do you have one bookie or are you registered with multiple ones ?
In case you bet on the internet, have the bookies ever singled you out as a winner, and tried to restrict or ban your activity?

What a farce the Ryan v Hibbert fight was, you pick the winner knowing the boy Ryan has his opponent's number with 2 previous wins against him then he dominates the fight only to lose it though a freak injury in the last few rounds!

Lol I accept it when my pick gets beat fair and square, hard to take when a lose like that happens, I've won bets by freak incidents and dubious decisions so goes both ways.
