I agree but l would add l wish when they took my money they provided me with more entertainment, especially Floyd who had the skills to do so.

Fully agree. A great fighter indeed, but his mouth and ego are bigger than his talent.

Without a doubt one of the greatest managers/promoters in boxing history. Very adept at catching big names at the right time, usually after a loss or two. The #1 house fighter and WBC legend. Defining moment of his career was calling out Winky Wright and then disappearing for a month when Winky showed up the next day to accept the challenge.

Anyway, he'll be back next year to fight Clottey or someone like that.

One of the ATGs, beat everyone he needed to beat and established himself as the best fighter of his era. Roy Jones and Mike Tyson can moan all they want.

Obviously he could have done more, namely take the scalp and the belt of MW champion Martinez, when he was in his prime.

Yeah, it's embarrassing how many of the supposed true fans in here say ridiculous, newbie-ish stuff about Mayweather and his career. I hope I never get to the point where I stop watching new fighters but badmouth them anyway.

Not convinced that we've seen the last of him. But as it stands he makes my top 10 p4p, though I'm probably in the minority.

Not sure exactly, but in the top 15. He has the best pfp run of all time since The Ring started including pfp.

He's basically the antithesis of Gatti: Gatti could turn a losing effort against Micky Ward into a historic fight, but a 35+ Mayweather could turn a landslide decision over an undefeated, 20 pounds heavier Canelo into a forgettable win.

Great post. That sums him up nicely although l think top 15 is on the generous side. Top 20-25 would be my view of where he stands.

I hope so. His fights are boring and he's loaded. Please, Floyd, spare us from any more of your fights.

That said, he'll probably stay around for a few more easy paydays.

His career is very much like Jones's....until Jones got laid out by Tarver. Floyd should quit now to ensure that moment never happens. Because if he fights too long, he will lose his reflexes overnight and could be embarrassed, like Jones was. Hopefully, he will quit while he is ahead.
