Holyfield actually getting stopped by James Toney was pretty shocking.

Good call, I never in a million years thought Toney could stop him but was rooting for Toney after his FOTY win against Jirov. He completely picked Holyfield apart, the skills Toney had were superb. He was a beast at the weight 217 I believe, in shape and very strong. I really wish Toney wouldn't have gotten injured before the Jameel McCline fight, he possibly could have stayed in shape and done some great things

Several good mentions here, but I haven't seen the immortal Billy Backus over Jose Napoles.

Sure, kind of fluky cut win, but the difference in class and reputation here is enormous.

    And Jones/Pinckney bigger still!

What about Arguello/FernandezI; that fight allegedly cost us Duran/Alexis. His only defeat in that excellent run between Marcel and Pryor.

Spinks over Ali was my choice but my all time favorite is still Honeyghan over Curry followed by Tarver over Jones

Ali over Foreman is a good one since Ali was past 30 and Foreman seemed to be on a whole other level

Shame Mayweather didn't get added to the list.

Ali-Foreman was probably the most shocking. Ali was regarded as damaged goods and Foreman was riding an insane hype train. Most people were just expecting George to walk through him in a round or two. Still remains in my opinion the greatest showcase of ring intelligence and savvy in the sport.

True. Think that fight is a bit overrated though

Few will remember Filipino fighter Rolando Pascua, but this little-known fighter came out of nowhere to beat Humberto Gonzales, at the time one of the best fighters in the sport.
He not only beat the power-punching Mexican, he whipped him in 6 rounds. Pascua would lose the title in his first defense and thereafter compile a very average record, making the trouncing of Gonzales all the more strange. But a big, big upset at the time.

No doubt. I think the insane african conditions and weather really slowed Foreman down, especially as the fight went on. Truly a tactical choice of Ali and his camp
