steve kim on his show just now said that ward is stalling on the undercard of cotto/canelo...hbo offered if ward commits to future fights and it didnt fly..
Just saw an interview with Ward saying hes been offered the co-feature on Cotto-Canelo, and also been offered his own date and he'll decide in the next week.
My God is this man incredibly stupid! So he wants to spend the rest of his career hanging around locker rooms as he tags along with his Jedi Master Virgil and the other fighters he trains? Amazing.
I can't believe he might turn down a spot on the Cotto-Canelo card. Ward needs any kind of exposure he can get.
be outraged there are 3 WBA titles per division, rather than someone not defending 1 of the 3. its all a big joke..... pretending like there is some kind of mandatory when they have 3 fuc.king belts :rofl
Being on that undercard or what Ward called it the "co feature" would get him some publicity. I just hope they don't have to ask Cotto or Canelo to take a pay cut so they can pay Ward vs TBA a $4 million dollar purse. If that's the case send his azz back to BET and Oracle Arena. They give away free tickets at Oracle Arena for Wards past fights their.
You know I don't like to hate on a lot of fighters and in particular California Bay Area fighters. But Ward is making it real hard to take him seriously. He seems like a guy who perceives boxing fans as ungrateful. And if they don't see the star in certain guys as himself, then they are not real boxing fans.
Look, I know it's trendy to take shots at Ward, and he's brought a lot of warranted hate upon himself that's amplified hate he previously garnered as a result of his success inside the ring. But if a couple of things break his way, he could very well find himself in a far more favorable situation than many of his detractors currently deem possible by the end of 2016 Then again, I just hope he at least has a a few fights by that point, because the flip-side is he could be in an even less favorable position and may not fight at all. :smoke
Two other young guys were mentioned also. Real green. Like 19-0 and 22-0. Some other member posted their names in a thread.
Would you be willing to agree that the quickest and most realistic way for Ward to get back on the right track he once found himself on, is to land a Golovkin fight? :smoke
