Serious question, I'm just wondering. Anybody think Price would fail to stop Gary Cornish inside a round? 39 year old Micheal Sprott? Kevin Johnson, 1-5 in his previous six before Anthony bowled him over?

I reckon Price would stop them all at least as quickly as Joshua, and that if he'd had fought at the London Olympics Price would be in the same position now, that is having documentaries dedicated to his thumping of terribly over-matched opposition, with Eddie Hearn and Adam Smith embarrassing themselves trying to outdo each other in fawning over what they obviously see as the ONLY potential pay-per-view fighter Hearn has under contract.

I don't think price would have won Olympic gold.

Johnson was stopped for the first time in his career then, he had been the distance with Fury, Chisora and Klitschko.

I'm pretty sure he goes the distance with Price.

Cornishs jab would probably drop Price.

Awk OP raises a good post that has been discussed before. Let's think back to when Price was the Joshua of his day. He was selling out the Echo Arena (at least it looked pretty damn full), and he was bowling over everyone in front of him. People were talking about Price v. Klitschko for christ's sake! And fair play to big Price, he put the brakes on that conversation admitting he wasn't ready.

Wasn't it even widely assumed that Fury ducked Price?

99% of posters on, being as knowledgeable as they are will look back and say, 'I knew he was a bum', it's just funny that a good 80% of posters back then had him tipped as the next Foreman

You can tell who knows their boxing and who doesn't when people compare Joshua to Price.

Price back then seemed to have the physical attributes, the height and reach, he was a bronze medalist so we thought he could box, and more importantly, he seemed to have / did have devastating power. He cut right through British level just like Joshua is doing now, he was clearly above that level.

I'm not comparing him to Joshua fighting wise at all, but career wise at this stage there is a very fair ****ogy to be made.

Johnson wouldn't have been KO'd so early I don't believe.

I don't think Fury ducked Price considering they fought in the ams and knocked him down about 17 times, in fact it Fury was one of the reasons that many people on this forum said that Price had a Glass Jaw before he was KO'd.

Price should never of been re matched with TT after the first fight.Price wanted it he should of been told no.

Price always came across as a fighter that seemed uncomfortable with the media and any self doubts especially in the HW division get exposed.Joshua has serious power and we are entering an era of open season in the HW division post Wlad.

I just rewatched the Teper fight, Price looks totally finished there. Compare those 2 rounds to the first round in the Thompson 1 fight where he actually looked good until the KO.

Price is finished, honestly he has Fraudley syndrome now.

Aye I knew they fought and Fury had him down but did Price not win that fight? Or have they fought several times as amateurs?

Whether or not Fury ducked out of fear we can't know for sure, the Price hype train was in full steam back then. Regardless, it was Fury who vacated the British belt minutes before the fight went to purse bids. He subsequently stated that the offer wasn't high enough. I can't remember what it was however. Either way, Fury was most definitely the fighter who at that point in time, has the egg on his face.

And are there not rumours are very own Joshua can't stand up to the heaviest of blows? Just to bring this conversation back in line with the thread.

Fury dropped Price in the amateurs & Price went on to win that fight by a landslide 22-8, do your research before you make such a statement.

At Price's peak he probably stops Bakhtov in the mid rounds & stops Johnson late on or by UD, or gasses like he did in the Thompson rematch & takes a beating. Price has devastating one punch power but lacks the hand speed Joshua possesses & doesn't put his punches together as well as Joshua, that's what stopped Johnson so fast.
