Not disputing. That was a great performance, I was just answering to a previous post that I felt was a bit misleading

Groves looks like he could well never win a world title.

He has had three title shots he could come again but many, many deserving fighters be it British or not have struggled to get one shot, let alone three.

I would say this with Groves as well as others you get many more chances in the modern game than you used to do,good luck to the fighters that do get these opportunities.Especially financially.

Even with modern day sport science it is amazing to me that judging the pace of a title fight seems to be lost on many. The 15 round title fights I grew up watching conditioning was the key.

You also knew that the second or third chances that rarely came along often meant the time it took to obtain them you really earn't them.Rightly or wrongly comparing eras just saying how it was.

I always think how some get plenty of title shots and others struggle to get one.
Look at how many Wayne McCullough had in so few fights, after losing his world title he gets a title shot at Zaragoza, Hamed, Morales, Harrison, Larios and Larios again. Thats 6 more title attempts after having been a champ

    Possibly not.
I would have favoured Groves to KO Fielding and C Smith but a loss often affects a fighter and I could imagine him losing to one of them if he fought them now.
I thought Groves looked ahead against B Jack

Graham stood Brewer on his head before running out of steam. Calzaghe struggled desperately with a faded Brewer by comparison.

Yep. It's probably hard for anyone to fanthom how it effects you mentally when the most embarrassing moment of your life comes in front of 80,000 people and in crystal clear HD in front of a global worldwide audience of millions

That is also not correct, though they were completely different fights with different styles.
Just to remind you that the commentary early on in the Graham/Brewer fight said something like (not exact words) a stoppage looks likely but which way, as both looked shaky at times. If it was standing on his head, comments like that wouldnt have been made early on. You also fail to mention Brewer broke his ankle early in the Graham fight which is a big hinderance.
Also Graham didnt suddenly run out of steam, he was suddenly caught, seemed to freeze a bit and Brewer followed up and scored the stoppage.
Please tell the whole story and not just the parts that suit.

It must be tough and I think the first loss had a big effect and the second loss I think further added
