Ward cleaned out the Division? He had some wins between 2009 - 2011 in the Super Six, including a conrovery headbutt win against Kessler and a duck against Direll..

Cleaning out isn't like that. His last 3 fights were against Dawson, Rodriguez and Smith (The AA leftover) in 4 years...

He could go for the belts again, Degale or Jack, there are Young Champs after he faild to be a number in 168 for the last 4 years...

Hope this helps at least one of you.

"If we demand same move from Ward, it would mean he would be 185 (172+13) and fighting a cruiser. Or if we assume only 9 pounds jump (168-159=9), he would still be over the light heavyweight limit (172+9=181).

And Ward (172) believes Kovalev is too big for him

That is insane, get a grip man!"

    They're not really comparable though.

Golovkin has called out Cotto, Canelo, and Mayweather at the weights they are fighting at.

Ward is calling out Golovkin at the weight Ward fights at.

Indeed, Ward's last fight was at light heavy, so it's only natural matchups with other light heavyweights be proposed.

Andre Ward is willing to fight Kovalev. They been in talks with his camp since July.

Kovalev's promoter, Kathy Duva, said: "We have been talking to Andre Ward’s people all week and I think we all agree the fight is going to happen. It is just a matter of when.

"The talks have been very amicable. They are deciding who they want to fight next, and we have Sergey’s schedule for his next few fights planned. By the end of next year, maybe a little sooner, you’re going to get to see that fight.

Mayweather is fighting at WW. I didn't hear GGG say he would fight there.

Also GGG was more than happy to move up to 168 to fight Froch. So that argument does not work one bit.

At the moment Golovkin will always prefere unifications @160

    but

Froch is a big name for a fight in the UK this fight would sell very well in the UK. Stylistically it would fit too

Chavez Jr (even after his loss) is a big name for mexican fans
Stylistically a fight with Golovkin would guarantee some action.

A Ward vs Golovkin fight at catchweight 174 in Okland would be a dirty boring fight with a lot of holding and headbutts maybe even stopped on cuts.

It all depends on the Canelo/Cotto winner.
I think if Cotto wins he will duck Golovkin and vacate the belt.
Canelo might be brave enough to take the fight with Golovkin.

    :think

You obviously don't speak about Ward because he hasn't fought @ 168 since nearly 2 years and hasn't beaten any top guy since the supersix
SMW isn't a deep division either.
Beside Ward and DeGale there isn't anyone special at the moment

Do you think that guys like Jack the Stripper and Chudinov are better fighters than Murray, Jacobs or Lemieux ?

Knocking out an old drained, injured Martinez @ catchweight and a drained former Golovkin victim also @ catchweight doesn't make you the King @160

The fight with Canelo is @ 155

Cotto know's that he can't beat Golovkin he will go down to 154 after the Canelo fight.

Who do you think will be the bigger name in middleweight history in 10 years Golovkin or Cotto ?

I've tried not to like Golovkin but what's not to like really?
I'll reserve judgement for now. If this time next year there are still the same regurgitated and thin veiled excuses as to why big fights are not being made, then I will start to question both GGG and his advisors.
That's not to say I doubt his ability to beat the money names in and around his division.

I responded to the accusation of calling out smaller men, so Froch is irrelevent.

Floyd has just defended his 154lb belt. Again.

This isn't Floyd/Pac, they're not in the same division. Stop trying to make it into something it isn't.

Why bash GGG's future opponent that everyone can't wait to see? That's if Cotto wins...

The same can't be said about Ward, Ward's division during his absence refilled with a fair amount of top contenders that would all make for excellent fights.

@cafe...this is floyd/pac....pactahds always insisted pac was the "smaller man"...."pac is a 140lber at best".......you know the whole thing is so similar right down to ggg making a lemieux fight(clottey) when ward(floyd was on the table)......you just dont wanna admit it......trust me...ggg fans are pactahds....if the fight took place two or three years down the road when ggg loses you would all claim "gggs prime was few years ago...thats when this fight should have taken place it means nothing now...a ward wins means nothing...shoulda happened in 2015"

No it isn't, firstly, they fought in the same division for years so that alone makes it completely different. Secondly, I've never heard many people make these excuses, sure a few but most Pac fans WANTED this fight more than anything, for them he was the guy to beat Floyd.

I've been using these boards for a while now so I kinda know which users are which now, and yes, some of them are pac****s but majority are not, however, majority of Ward fans GGG haters are absolutely flom0s, that's for certain.
