Kovalev would have slapped Foster, Spinks, Charles and Moore all on the same night.

Lol on another boxing site they had Gus Lesnevich beating Roy Jones Jr.

Kovalev hasn't been in any huge wars yet...let's see how he does vs Stephenson or Beterviev before reviewing his record.

BTW what about Sam Langford? Hasn't been mentioned yet. There is enough old video out there to evaluate his skills.

Moore, Foster, Qawi, Charles are good shouts.

That and the attrition and wear and tear factor of facing that level of competition. He's not doing anything remotely close to that. Fighting all those tough hombres from say 77 to 83 is a lot of mileage on the odometer. That's what causes losses. Just look at what happens to the just the hands of hitters and how long those ko's stay when they reach the top.

Kovalev has minimal wear and tear but once guy's go downhill in the reflexes department , lots of bad things happen. The A game turns into a B or C game and they are fighting an A grade opponent, not 38 year old Stevenson types.

With Kovalevs temper and killer instinct, I sincerely hope he doesn't self destruct and/or end up like Tyson, Ibeabuchi, Valero etc.

    A very interesting fight indeed.

I didn't realise how big Moorer really was until recently seeing him split up Wlad and Briggs.
